We finally got around to get the new TV. I love it!
Let me show you it (I was watching Liar Liar):

Here is a picture of the old TV and TV stand.
We headed to Kallentori shopping center on Monday around 5 pm. First we went to Jysk, that was quite close. Anssi had a HUGE meltdown and we all were really tense. The weather was hot and that seemed to bother Anssi. We were looking for a dresser cause we knew the TV wouldn't fit in our current TV stand. There was nothing nice at Jysk so we went to Kallentori & Sotka. I gave Anssi a juice box and he seemed to calm down a bit. We found a nice dresser and I stayed at the furniture store to buy it and Mikko headed to the TV store (Tekniset Tarvainen) to buy the TV.
Anssi got a second meltdown, but it went away when the salesman gave him a little stuffed bird (their mascot). The dresser we wanted was the last one, so I took the one that was on display. The original price was 219€ but I got it for 156€. And we didn't have to assemble it, which is always a nice thing. I hate putting furniture together.
I think I got some extra €€ off the dresser cause the salesman thought I was Josu's wife. Uhm.. no. I broke up with Josu in... July 2000. :P I remembered the salesman was Josu's friend and I had seen him in some party or something. He was REALLY embarrassed that he hadn't kept in touch with his friends before assuming who is married with who. :P Later in the evening I told Mikko the whole embarrassing incident and I LOLed when Mikko said that I don't even look like Maija, Josu's fiancé, I am so much prettier. :P
I dropped Anssi to the TV store and drove the car next to the furniture company's warehouse. The salesmen put the dresser in the car, it fit nicely when I put down the backseat back rests. Sometimes it's nice to drive around a huge car. :P I drove back to the shopping center garage and got Mikko, Anssi and the TV. It was amazing how light the TV was! Mikko carried it to the car and we just put it on top of the dresser. Mikko, Anssi and Anssi's stroller didn't fit in the car so I drove home and Mikko & Anssi walked home. Our neighbour helped me to carry the TV inside.
Jussi, my BiL, came over around 7 pm. Mikko and Jussi put the old TV stand to pieces and in our car (it's old and broken so we decided to put it to rest at the recycling center). I took Anssi out, cause Anssi wanted to "help" the guys and he was just in the way. Luckily Mikko & Jussi noticed that the headphones plug was right in the middle of the TV's back before they made holes in the wall for the wall mount thingie. We need a different kind of wall mount thingie for the TV so we can plug in the headphones. We got a wall mount that doesn't allow you to turn the TV. So that needs to be returned. And Mikko didn't have the right parts for his drill, the screws were HUGE! :P I hope we can get those tomorrow. I don't trust Anssi around a TV that's not drilled to the wall. :) Plus we need the dresser top for the DVR and DVD player. I put our DVD's in the dresser cabinets and what we currently have take about half of the cabinet space. Nice to know we don't run out of cabinet space right away.
But the TV, DVD player and DVR are now installed and runnin. The TV's picture looks fantastic!!! :D
