Master Addons Theme Builder lets you design custom headers for your WordPress site using Elementor’s drag-and-drop editor. Once created, you can precisely control where each header appears using a flexible condition system – meaning you can show different headers on your homepage, blog posts, archives, and more.
Creating a Header Template #
1. Access the Theme Builder #
Navigate to Master Addons → Theme Builder in your WordPress dashboard. Click Add New Template.
2. Configure General Settings #
- Template Title: Give your header a recognizable name (e.g., “Website Header”).
- Template Type: Select Header from the dropdown.
- Activation: Ensure it’s set to Active (After finalizing your header)
Click Save Settings before editing.
3. Edit with Elementor #
Click the Edit with Elementor button. This opens the Elementor editor where you can drag and drop widgets to design your header.
Pro Tip: Use Master Addons Nav Menu widget for advanced menu styling, mega menus, or mobile-friendly navigation – or combine it with any Elementor widget (like Logo, Button, Search) to build your layout.
4. Set Display Conditions #
This is the most important step. Conditions determine where your header appears. After designing, go back to the Conditions tab in the Theme Builder settings.
You’ll see two main sections:
- Include: Where the header will appear.
- Exclude: Where it will not appear (overrides Includes).
How to Add a Condition #
- Click ADD CONDITION.
- A dropdown appears with location types:
- Entire Site
- Front Page (Your homepage)
- Singular (Single posts, pages, custom posts)
- Archive (Category, tag, author, date archives)
- Search Results
- 404 Page
- Select one. For some types (like Singular), a second dropdown appears to narrow it further (e.g., All Posts, All Pages, or specific items).
5. Understanding Condition Logic #
- You can add multiple Include and Exclude conditions.
- The system works from broad to specific. For example:
- Include: Entire Site → Header shows everywhere.
- Then Exclude: Front Page → It won’t show on the homepage.
- After customizing the condition make sure to save the settings.
Real Examples of Conditions: #
Example 1: Basic Header for All Pages
- Include:
Front Page+Singular+Archive - This header will appear on the homepage, all single posts/pages, and all archive pages.
Example 2: A Header for Posts Only
- Include:
Singular→Posts - Exclude: (Leave empty)
- This header appears only on single blog post pages, not on pages or the homepage.
Example 3: Site-Wide Header with One Exception
- Include:
Entire Site - Exclude:
Singular→Posts→ [Select a specific post] - Header appears everywhere except that one specific post.
6. Save & Preview #
After setting conditions, click SAVE SETTINGS. Clear your site cache if needed, then visit your site to see the header in action based on your rules.
Key Notes & Tips #
- Order Matters: If you create multiple headers, the most specific matching condition usually wins. Test on different pages to ensure the correct header displays.
- Native Elementor Widgets Work Too: You’re not limited to Master Addons widgets. Use any Elementor Pro or free widget in your design.
- Preview Conditions: Use the Preview button in the Conditions panel to see a list of pages where your template will appear.
- Conflict Fix: If a header doesn’t show, check for conflicting conditions in other templates or ensure your theme isn’t forcing its own header.
Master Addons Header Builder gives you full visual control and smart condition management – replacing your theme’s default header without touching code. Start by creating a general site-wide header, then make specialized versions for your homepage, shop, or blog section using the Include/Exclude logic.
