Goodbye Italy

I loved going to visit Italy. It is my happy place in my head now. So if it looks like the kids are going crazy around me and it doesn't look like I know what's going on, this is where I really am. I was ready to come home but I am so grateful for this time that we had to spend with each other. I hope one day we get to go back.

My favorite parts were the Amalfi Coast (of course), the pizza, the gnocchi, the GELATO (white chocolate, stracciatello, dark chocolate, coco, and I know there are other flavors I had), lungomare's, window shopping, walking without having to worry about anything.
Least favorite part: the gypsy's trying to sell you stuff (or force it on you), the smoking! And the train stations :( They can get kinda confusing.

Italy Day 10

This was a day we really had nothing planned. Just tried to fit a couple extra things in. First, we figured out our route for the next morning like getting our metro tickets and train tickets. Then we went to the Bocca della Verita. We both still have our hands, so we passed the test. After that, we went to the Jewish ghetto to look for what else, a fabric store :) I got some quilt fabric for my aunt who was watching the kids at home and for my mom. We then went to campo de fiori, which is a big market. Then we walked around Borghese park. There were some awesome inline skaters that we watched for quite a while. I totally should've taped them. I did get a little video of a band playing on the Spanish Steps that day. There was some little festival going on so there there was music all day. It was really nice not to have a big plan for our last day, it was much more relaxed.

Italy Day 9

All my pictures show up in reverse order. So start at the bottom and work your way up for the order of our day. We went to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica. Can I just say, it was crowded!! I think I just got used to the slower way of life in the south. Now we were back with all the tourists and it was hard to even walk through the museum through all the people. We climbed to the top of St. Peter's. All 320 stairs, some through very narrow passages.
Then we walked around some more and went to dinner right by the Pantheon.

Italy Day 8

We said goodbye to Positano and the Amalfi Coast. That was very sad. We drove back to Rome to return the rental car and took the metro to the apartment we were staying at. Then we just spent the rest of day walking around Rome.
Excuse the blurry pictures. It's a new camera and we're still getting used to it.
