so... my journal expired. I've been paying for this shit for like 9 years but I think this might be the year I finally don't renew. It could have something to do with the fact that I'm broke as a joke, but I think it has more to do with the fact that I JUST DON'T FUCKING US IT ANYMORE. AAAUUUGHHH CAPS.

I'd never delete my journal, so if some day it's deleted--I either got haxxored or LJ's just mad because I don't be payin' for dis shit no mo'. I mean, I realize a lot of the shit in this journal (being that it IS 9 years old...) is embarrassing as hell, but at the same time I'd bet nobody would actually subject themselves to reading it.

Thus, I think soon will be the day I say goodbye to this chapter in my internet life, and leave it with the fact that the whole shit has just gotten way too damn... RUSSIAN. And what the fuck is with the ads everywhere? Last I checked you only get ads if you're one of those plus shits, now there isn't even that. There's paid... or ADVERTISEMENTS IN YO FACE.

Also, I don't use Facebook, so don't hope to find me there. I mean, I'm ON there, but I don't use the shit. Every time I log in I'm bombarded with a million pictures of babies belonging to someone's sister's friend's cousin's ... sister. wtb childfree facebook plz. seriously, the whole reason I stay the fuck away from Facebook--people with children have nothing better to talk/post pictures about than their children and nothing can convince them otherwise. These two were really cute together all the time. ♥ Honestly it bothered me the negativity towards Haruka simply because she was "OMG BUTCH LESBIAN"... as if a girl can't be anything other than a totally feminine girl without being harassed by everyone about it. It also really bothered me how the english dubbing company decided to turn them into cousins because heaven forbid North Americans be exposed to TEH GAY. careful, I hear it's contagious. Anyway, they're cute and they're my favourite even though I don't really like Michiru on her own, she seems like she could be kind of a bitch. lol

Hellsing Ultimate

I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with me, but fuck 'em. Hellsing Ultimate had the most AWESOME art ever. The great part about it was that a lot of the scenes were straight out of frames of the manga (which had it's own unique flair, I might add (9 FOOT ARMS!!)) I will make the point though that Hellsing Ultimate isn't the best because it's flawless, but because it has "flaws". Lines that don't exactly match up and make things perfectly symmetrical, yet they add such character and emotion to the things they're animating. I think as far as anime today goes, Hellsing Ultimate is a far cry from the typical cookie-cutter shit you find around nowadays (like Haruhi or some shit like that)) and that's what makes it so great.

Day 24 - Favorite anime hero or heroine

THIS IS HARD. I don't tend to like heroes. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and make for a really bizarre answer.


Light Yagami - Death Note

SO... really, Light isn't a hero by typical hero definition but that would depend on who you ask. If you asked him, he'd probably say that he's a hero. Day 20 - Favorite shoujo anime


Revolutionary Girl Utena (or to get really weeaboo on your ass, Shoujo Kakumei Utena)

Honestly Utena is probably the closest thing to a Shoujo anime that I love. And I guess... really, look at it. YEAH THERE ARE SHOUJO BUBBLES. Lots of them.

I'd also like to point out on a side note and as a somewhat answer to one of the previous anime days, anime character you most relate to, I can't help but feel I somewhat relate to Kozue from this series because ... she has this genius brother who plays the piano and fences and scores omg high on every exam ever, and she'll never live up to him right? WELL I have a genius best friend who plays the piano and fences and scores omg high on every exam ever and I also feel like I'm never going to live up to him. Seriously, he is like... the embodiment of Miki. To the point where, after I showed him the anime, he started carrying around a stopwatch at school and clicking it at random times just to weird people out. And to be honest it's one of those deep and kind of broody secrets I have that I always feel like... you know, he's too good of a person to be my friend. I know he'll never feel that way (at least I fucking hope not) but all the same I can't help but at the same time it's almost even MORE depressing because he's TOO GOOD of a person to ever admit how much of a loser I am. I probably just think about it too much, but sometimes I can't help but wonder if ever he's listened to me or been my friend out of pity. Sigh. THIS HAS GOTTEN OFF TRACK. ... I really miss him though.

Day 15 - Characters whose hair you'd kill for

This might be a bit different for me but it's the best answer I could come up with lol


Kanoe - X/1999

I'm not an entirely huge fan of the character--other than her english voice was done by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, there's nothing really special about her. HOWEVER, I would LOVE to have long, manageable, silky black hair like she does. Unfortunately it's easier said than done when your hair is as thick as mine and dying the stuff is a huge gong show. If my hair were that long, I'd likely suffer from headaches every day just based on how damn heavy it would be. Everyone always says, "oh you're so lucky to have thick hair!" but they have NO idea just how ridiculously hard it is to deal with. Not to mention, I have yet to meet a hairdresser that hasn't been intimidated by the sheer AMOUNT of hair I have. I tend to shed a lot, but you'd never notice... even thinning my hair out manually with shears hasn't helped.

And so, I am jealous of anyone with hair that actually MOVES. Mine? Too thick and heavy that even gale-force winds fail to ruffle it. Thus why I tend to keep it short, that way it's not too heavy on my head and is fairly easy to deal with.

I had to miss posting Day 12 yesterday--not that I think anyone really cares lol--because I've had a migraine that has now persisted over 24 hours and the damn thing WILL NOT SHAKE. I'm on the best of the best of triptan drugs to take as needed for when they get this bad and even that can't seem to shake the damn thing off. It's mild right now, I'm hoping it's fading away to nothing and I can get on with my life.

Paprika

I realize Paprika is an anime movie and not a series, but I think it still counts regardless. Anyway, the music for the movie was done entirely by Susumu Hirasawa who is just... GOD when it comes to making the most awesome and interesting of sounds. That being said, the movie is really well done too--it's one of those animes that require all kinds of interpretation as it gets PRETTY fucked up at the end, but all the same it's really awesome. :> I'd like to thank Maria who will never read this for buying this movie for me!

Vision of Escaflowne

This was another one of my first animes ever. :O I remember the first time I ever saw it on TV, I was confined to a hotel room puking my guts out (hey! not much has changed in 12 years, just switch hotel room with hospital room and we're all set) and I managed to catch it's "premier" on TV so it was like a 4-episode special. I remember really liking it, only being confused as to what the fuck happend to episode 2 because it was cut out of the English version completely for being too violent (lol). I wasn't really a fan of the mecha parts but mecha-DRAGON is pretty badass you must admit. My one beef though? Folken's death. I mean, the guy breaks off a chunk of his sword on the follow-through of his swing and it bounces back and hits him in the throat. MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T SWING SO HARD, FUCKSTICK.
