Hi Judy and Mike, It’s so fun to read your blog and see all the wonderful photos you share. I can’t believe that you’ve been out so long. You’ll be back home this Fall (I mean northern hemisphere Fall) already!?! Wow! So I guess you are starting your Fall season now. Today is a lovely sunny Spring day here, so far a rare occurrence this year. According to the weatherman our temperatures have been colder than normal. Yesterday I was able to go out and work in the yard for a few hours which I really love to do. It always makes me feel so energized. Well take care of yourselves. Karla
Hi Karla, I’m sorry I’ve taken so long to respond. It was so good to hear from you. We miss all our friends at home and I often find myself thinking of Sound Singers when I hear a group singing. What a blessing that was in our lives.
We’re doing well and enjoying our days here in Buenos Aires. This week the Area Presidency is in Salt Lake for conference, so things in the office are a little more relaxed. I notice the 3 secretaries in the front office are doing quite a bit more visiting. But it’s a nice change for a couple of weeks, and Mike isn’t under as much pressure either, which is good.
We’re looking forward to conference this weekend and we’ll get to hear it in English! I find my Sundays are a constant test of how much I’m understanding, which most of the time isn’t a whole lot. I am doing better, but will never really understand the native speakers. For the last couple of weeks they’ve spent a lot of time in their meetings preparing for conference. The people who are active here have such strong testimonies and so look forward to the guidance from the General Authorities. Even though I love conference, I sometimes think we take it a little for granted. Anyway it’s been a good time for preparing ourselves mentally and spiritually for this coming weekend. It could also be that I have more time to focus on spiritual things while on a mission.
Well, I’m going to go out for a walk before going into the office, so I better get going. I’ve been waiting for it to get a little lighter. While your days are getting longer, ours are getting shorter. We’re into fall now and I’m not sure how that’s going to affect my morning walks. I may have to wait and go in the evenings with Mike.
