December 2012

I thought I had given up all hope to ever update this thing again. I am no means going to try to catch up but I should at least do a little something for December. So, here goes nothin'...

Since I haven't been doing dance as much I knew I needed to stay in touch with my girls. We swore we would do Girls' Night and we have actually been really good at it!! In December we made these super easy and cute ornament wreaths. I did mine blue and brown so I could leave it up through January. I love how they turned out.

We finally got our tree up around the middle of December. Dax picked out his own penguin ornament and actually did pretty well about staying away from the tree. I considered it not falling on top of him a huge success.

However, two flat tires in December was not so fun. Luckily Mark was available to save the day both times (thank heavens for that yoga mat!).

We went and saw Zoo Lights to try and get into the holiday spirit. I'm not sure if Dax could even see them he was so bundled up.

My brother Jordan and his wife Natalie had their first little baby girl, Maggie. She had to be in the NICU for a week but they still made it home for Christmas!!

Christmas was magical.

Dad had his office movie premier of "The Hobbit". He was such a good sport and even dressed up as Gandolf. It was a hit!!

Mom celebrated a big birthday 3 days after Christmas!!

Image

Our little Squish is getting so big. I love him more and more every day. It is so fun to watch him grow and develop. I liked the teeny tiny newborn stage but I think to myself almost everyday how much more I enjoy him now.

Image

Dax eats just about anything we eat and will feed himself as long as its on a flat surface. If you put it in a bowl he flips and won't put his hands in. He's a nut! We've started giving him a spoon and he will finally hold on to that and eat with the other hand.

Image

He still only has 2 teeth although I'm thinking he's working on a few more right now. (Heaven help us!)
He is getting more of a personality and can be a little defiant.
He sleeps like a champ usually 9:00pm-9:00am and still takes 2 naps a day.

Image

He has mastered army crawling but refuses to get up on his hands and knees. He can stand for a few seconds on his own and loves to walk around with you holding his hands. He has no balance though so I think we are still going to be a while until we walk. He hasn't shown any interest on pulling up on anything and LOVES balls.

Image

Mark can get him to say "Mama", "Dada", and "Hi". He will mimic just about any grunt or noise you make if he's in the mood. He can give high fives and will sometimes wave.
He is still a very happy, social little boy and loves to play with other kids.
Happy 11 months baby boy!!

Happy Birthday/Cabin

This weekend was my 24th birthday. It was also our last weekend of the Summer at the Cabin. We had fun playing cards, opening presents, eating birthday cake, building a fire, 4-wheeling, etc. Daxton decided he wanted my birthday to last all night and screamed all night long. It was an epic night. :)

5.01.2012

I have been so bad at this whole blogging thing lately. I haven't been taking pictures of fun things we've done either so it's been hard to put a post together. So...here comes the randomness!

Last weekend I had my "potentially" last dance concert. I am going to miss these girls!!

Image

Mark and I have been trading babysitting with our friends every Monday night so we can go on dates. It's been so fun. Going from 1-3 kids was quite a shocker for us though. The first night when everyone was ready for dinner all at once, and 2 babies were crying, we weren't quite sure we were going to make it. We did it though and it was sure fun to have these cuties over!!

I just had to throw in this picture to see how big our Squishy is getting!
Those cheeks....

2 months

I'm a little behind (...like usual) and am just now getting around to posting Dax's 2 month picture. It's amazing how hard it is to get a decent picture of a wiggly little boy!

Image

We can't believe how big he is getting and what a joy he is to us!

2 month stats...
Length: 23.5 inches 75-90%
Weight: 11 lb 6 oz 50%
Head: 39.5 cm 50%

Here are a few new fun things about Dax...

  • He is becoming such a talker! We love listening to all his little sounds
  • He is definitely getting a personality and will let you know if he doesn't like the way you are holding him or wants attention
  • He has recently found his hands and loves sucking on them
  • He is recognizing his toys on his car seat and bouncer
  • He can stand and hold his head up
  • He will arch his back and get mad if he doesn't want to get in his carseat
  • He has started to giggle when we play with him
  • He uses his legs when he's laying on his back and will scooch all the way off his blanket

March-April Catch-Up

So many fun things have happened the last two months. For starters, Daxton got blessed Easter Sunday! We had so many family and friends come support us and show their love. It was a very special Easter.

Dax was blessed in Mark's blessing outfit his Grandma made for him.

We also had our annual Easter egg hunt at my mom and dad's. It's still so fun even though we are all adults now.

This is Dax's new buddie, "A-goo". He named him himself

We've also been enjoying this beautiful weather and have tried out Daxton's stroller a time or two.

Bethany and I from dance also dragged our two little boys to a dance competition up in Salt Lake.

Beth and I also had a fun little craft day over spring break and made these beauties for our front doors

These two are going to best buddies!!

Ab taught Dax how to play cards

Mark and Daxton have become little buddies while I've been at work. Aren't they just adorable?? Look at that chunky little boy!!

Image

Mark got a piece of wood stuck in his arm an inch and a half and had to get it dug out of his muscle. Dad was so nice and took his stitches out for him...

Image

Mia has also become a little curious/jealous/protective of Dax when he is at my Mom's on Tuesdays.

Here's Dax's first smile caught on camera. He has had many, many more since!

Stay tuned for his 2 month post!!
