Ok, I missed giving my comments on the 2nd semi-final, but it wasn't that exciting anyway. So I jump to the final ... which was like every year quite surprising. Like every year I'm surprised what some countries thinks is "good" (despite the fact that some countries give points just because the other is the neighbour ... though can't say that to Switzerlands neighbours .... evil neighbours, not a single point!!!)

Sooo let's start talking about the next Eurovision, which will be in the winners country .... Azerbaijan ... yes that's a country ... obviously in the European Broadcasting Union o.O
It's somewhere between Europe and Asia ... some would say it's west-asia XD ... many people don't even consider Turkey as Europe ... what will they say about Azerbaijan? XDDD

Image

Anyway, poor little country in the far far east of Europe. An even like the ESC is not easy to handle ... I mean not even Germany manage it without fail (cough ... very bad sound in the first semi-final ... some stations even had to moderate by phone o.O ... that was bad) I actually consider winning as a punishment XDDD

Well anyway, I won't comment on the songs, or the points .. it's like every year ... silly, idiotic and ridiculous. Somebody who wins at the ESC hardly ever becomes famous (ok céline dion is an exception!!!)
I'll start to organize a initiative for Switzerland to never ever participate again.

I'm normally not interested in this contest at all ... it's a annual annoyance on TV ... an annual embarrassment for Switzerland XDDD maybe I'm just especially bored this week XD

The Eurovision Song Contest is organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), first time in 1956. The countries participate through the television station which is a member of the EBU. All participating countries can vote for the most popular song in the competition (It is not always the best!! >.<)
In the first contest were 7 participants, in this years contest are 43. Through the years, the rules as well as the concept has changed. Today, the countries vote with televoting and a semi-final round has been introduced (actually 2 semi-finals). Only the "big 5" countries (France, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy) are automatically qualified for the final (I guess they have serious funding problems if one of them don't participate ...) Anyway, only Germany managed to win the contest since that was introduced XDDD
For more information, go to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurovision_Song_Contest)

I normally don't watch the contest cause the songs were all weird XD you normally don't see very famous groups since it's really unpredictable who will win and it can be a total humiliation. However, I think it's a very interesting contest, where many countries participate in an live competition. That's one big organisational event, I mean first every television station need to select a singer/group and the song. In many countries, a song contest is held for this just to select the song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Then the event itself, a live contest broadcasted to almost whole Europe ... and the televoting in all the countries ... and the final results ... the points given by the countries, where they switch to the respective country which give the points ... that's legendary XDDD

Well, yesterday was the first semi final for this year's contest. The 10 finalists are:

I liked the Norwegian song ... it was half English, half Swahili ... I thought it's something new ... I generally like something new XD
Some finalists are ... uhm ... i can't explain how you can vote for a song like that XDDDD

The next semi finals will be tomorrow, let's see if Austria make it to the finals ... after 3 years of absence ^^

Haven't updated for ... super long o.O which doesn't mean I was not active on LJ ...
I don't really thing somebody is interested in my boring life, so I don't update my own journal as often as Imagesscans

I can't believe that my last post was about the locarno film festival 2009! thats now over a year ago! but still ... it will be one of my highlights of my life for sure! Never again will I be able to see so many V.I.P's of the anime world again!

However ... life is going on ... I found a job ... no boring classes anymore .. but also no inspiration to draw anything o.O. I haven't draw anything for over a year now T_T isn't that sad? well I also couldn't find an anime for me as well in the past year. Sure I was watching one ... or two .. but nothing caught my breath ...
But hey ... I think I feel something again. It's not a new serie, but a rather old one now. I used to read it when it was still releaseing in japan, but at the same time I had difficulties to find scanlations (hey it was a weekly jump serie! and there was no up-to-date scanlations!!!) I was so desperate that I decided to buy the manga in French (a language I should understand but always failed). However ... after a while I lost the spirit ... also because I heard the serie ended with no fucking real end in Japan!
Time passed and still I had no intention to read it even after it became available in German and English. Even after the Mangaka published a Perfect Edition of the whole serie again with a re-drawn real end ... still I had no spirit to read it again.
Until now ... after I got so bored that I decided to brows some fanfics of old series I liked ... man can't believe that some yaoi can bring my spirit back XDDD
I can now proudly announce, after don't know ... 8 years have passed ... I finally manage to read Shaman King until the very end! And you know! I don't regret that I bought so many merchandise at that time! my French edition which I never really wanted to give away (even tough I never really read the last volumes XD)
It's quite nostalgic, because of Shaman King, I started the scanlation group Imagesscans which is still active until now! ... just not with scanlations but with providing RAW's XDDD. Isn't that destiny? telling me that I should continue sscans? aww and I even feel to draw again! (of course SK fanarts cause there are not enough kekeke) unfortunately I can't buy any merchandise anymore ... the serie is just too old now. But hey ... I got my spirit back :))

I was the lucky one who was able to visit the Locarno Film Festival. This year they had a special on Anime. After a quick look on the program, I decided to go J the reason was simple ... anime movies on big screen in a theatre of the last 50 years and Yoshiyuki Tomino as a guest! I HAD to go! Just to meet Tomino! And guess what! I didn’t only meet Tomino, no Yoshiyuki Sadamoto was also there!!!!! Kyaa, and Ishiro Itano, Mamoru Hosoda and Sunao Katabuchi. They were all there to introduce one of their works ♥♥♥♥
I didn’t stay the whole festival, I arrived like 3 days after it started and missed Isao Takahata! I really regret that >.<. However, the Festival started on the 5th of August and ended on the 15th. I arrived on the 8th and I watched the following movies and events:

My ProgramCollapse )

After you watched a whole week movies almost none stop … that’s not very healthy, especially since you don’t really have the time to eat something normal. Friday was the heaviest day, I started to watch at 9 am in the morning until 2 am on the next day! I think I looked like that
Locarno

It’s already one month ago, and I’ll start to write over notable movies I’ve watched J especially world premiere and international premiere ^^ I’ll start with Redline, which will be on theater in Japan next year :)
