Today, it was announced that the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” is coming to Disney+ on March 24. The special will celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation — exactly two decades after its Disney Channel debut.

The special will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with Miley Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation will offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans around the world. With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus will revisit the moments, music and memories that defined an era. Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from “Hannah Montana” are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet. There will also be some familiar *notes* that find their way back into the spotlight…

With one of Disney’s most passionate fandoms, “Hannah Montana” became a global phenomenon, reshaping kids’ television, influencing music and fashion, and launching a generation-defining pop star. The EmmyⓇ-nominated series spawned 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, as well as two feature films.

The special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. Ashley Edens serves as showrunner, with Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan as executive producers. Cooper will also host the special, guiding “Hannah Montana” fans through the nostalgic and highly-anticipated anniversary celebration.

Fans can relive their favorite Miley moments ahead of the anniversary special with the “Hannah Montana” Collection on Disney+. And starting Feb. 19, they can dive even deeper with a dedicated non-stop Stream featuring all four seasons of “Hannah Montana,” “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” and “Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert.” Demonstrating the franchise’s enduring popularity, the “Hannah Montana” catalog has amassed more than half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+ to date.

Miley Cyrus will soon be in her wedding “Flowers” era.

The singer, 33, is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, a source confirms to PEOPLE. A rep for Cyrus did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The couple’s engagement comes after Cyrus stepped out to the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, Dec. 1, sporting a diamond ring on her left-hand ring finger. She flashed the glitzy jewelry as she and Morando, 27, posed for photos together on the red carpet.

Cyrus was first spotted wearing the ring around mid-November, according to Deux Moi. It was visible in photos from her birthday dinner late in the month.

Francesca Simons, a rep for jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, confirmed to PEOPLE that Aiche made the “bespoke” ring, which features a cushion-cut stone set on a thick, 14-karat yellow gold band. The three-time Grammy winner and the drummer were first romantically linked in December 2021, when they were photographed getting close backstage during Cyrus’ NBC holiday special, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, in Miami.

Months later, in April 2022, they seemingly confirmed their romance when they were spotted passionately kissing while out in West Hollywood.

In a cover story interview for British Vogue in June 2023, Cyrus shared the sweet story of how she and Morando first met.

“We got put on a blind date,” the Hannah Montana alum said at the time.

“Well, it was blind for me and not really for him,” she then clarified. “I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’ “Last year, Cyrus touched on the couple’s six-year age difference in a November 2024 interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She said their age gap works because they “just don’t take life too seriously,” though she noted that Morando “looks at life really differently than I do.”

“He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters,” she explained. “Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’ ”

A source told PEOPLE in March 2024 that the two had taken a big step in their relationship and were living together.

“She is very happy with him,” the insider said at the time, adding, “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious. Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”

In a September conversation with The Cut about learning lessons from past relationships — for which she was joined by her mom, Tish, and sister, Noah — Cyrus shared how her mom “always wanted me to stay with the wrong guy ’cause they’re hot.”

With Morando, she said, “I ended up with a person who means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me. I had to learn that the hard way because my mommy taught me the wrong way and then I had to learn the right way by myself.”

“I had to find someone who treats me with respect and then Mom never really put that on the top three of her must-haves,” she continued. “Mom was like, ‘They need to be tall.’ ”

Cyrus added: “My man’s hot as hell … but my man also respects me.” Amid their personal relationship, Cyrus and Morando, who currently plays drums for the band Liily, have collaborated professionally. Morando worked on two tracks — “Handstand” and “Violet Chemistry” — from Cyrus’ 2023 album, Endless Summer Vacation. Morando also produced several songs on her ninth album, Something Beautiful, and co-wrote the title track.

When Cyrus won Record of the Year for her hit “Flowers” at the 2024 Grammys, she gave a sweet shout-out to her now-fiancé in her acceptance speech. In addition to thanking her team, she paid tribute to Morando, who was sitting in the audience, calling him “my love.”

Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 to August 2019.
