ABOUT ME
Hello, Jewel here! If you would like to get to know the face behind the writing, keep reading below!

More about me!
I was diagnosed with MRKH Syndrome at the age of 17. Meaning, in my case, I was born without a uterus, a shortened vaginal canal, (thankfully I’ve fixed this), and would also never be able to get pregnant. This diagnosis absolutely changed my life. I am here today with the intent of sharing the journey of working through MRKH in my early twenties. With hopes of sharing this blog to make others feel seen, or find something they can relate to. I think it’s important for the readers to get to know me a bit, so if you feel inclined, keep reading!
My life!
I am now 23 years old. I currently live in Alberta, Canada, with my boyfriend and our dog Archie.
I have lived in a few different provinces, but my absolute favourite is British Columbia.
I recently just graduated college, finishing addiction studies program. Which focused on addiction sciences, rehabilitation studies, and much more. I am now in the process of securing employment among the mental health addiction services care field within my community. I have always had a huge drive for advocating for vulnerable populations, and being a voice for those who do not have one. I look forward to beginning my career and impacting my community.
Hobbies & Faves
My favourite thing to do in my free time is any form of art. However, my favourite is oil painting. I also love to be with my friends and family, my people are so important to me. I also love that I have people in my life who I cant also do art with, best of both worlds.
I also really enjoy hiking & camping, specifically being in the mountains in my spare time. Especially when I get to bring my dog. Living in Alberta provides me with so many opportunities to do so.
Another nerdy side hobby I really enjoy, is listening to mental health & trauma podcasts, along with doing personal research on addiction sciences and mental healthcare. And sometimes music theory, lame I know!
Above all, I love being with the people in my life the most, and I am so thankful

MRKH
My MRKH diagnosis has been a journey. One that I am still, and will always be learning to accept. It has changed my life completely. And I am aiming to learn more about myself, but also MRKH through my own thoughts and through others.
I never had much to lean back on when I got my diagnosis. I created this blog with the intention of connecting to others with MRKH, but also to provide a resource I truly wish I had when I was going through this.
Like I said, I am still learning. Everyday is new, and a struggle. But I am still young and things are going to be okay eventually.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me! Don’t hesitate to reach out!
