I know we have some Anna Lapwood fans out there and I found this video of her describing the different sounds of a pipe organ. It is interesting and brought to us via ClassicFM, my go-to station for orchestral music. (Get the app)

I told my daughter, “Go to bed, the cows are sleeping in the field.” She said, “What’s that got to do with anything?”
I said, “ That means it’s pasture bedtime.”
Thank you, Joel E. Hodges, Sr.
When you get angry, take a deep breath and count to ten.
Throw a punch at eight.
Nobody expects that.
Ah, yes.
A simple life and today we should add that he probably doesn’t have Verizon for his phone service.

A New Day Awaits. What are you going to do with it?
Early this morning, while catching up on some reading, I came across a powerful post on Steve Layman’s blog. Steve is a real estate guru in the Newark, OH area. We have met several times, including he and his “Sweetie” having dinner with my wife and I at our home in Aiken. He’s a class act.. As usual, I digress.
35 Life Lessons in 35 Years is very direct and while I practice some of the lessons, I still have lots of work to do. I will refer to it often as I prepare to spend a few days considering/being considered for what appears to be a very exciting career opportunity.
I amprinting this off and taping it to the wall in my home office. It’s just THAT GOOD.
Here is a taste. . .
11. Anything above zero compounds.
Ambitious people allow optimal to get in the way of beneficial. The truth is that showing up consistently matters more than showing up perfectly. Small things become big things.

Thanks, Steve
I’m so old that I remember when you would get in trouble, if you broke the law 🤔
My father spent his life in law enforcement and while I miss him, I’m just happy he isn’t around to see what politics and wokeness have done to our society in general and so many departments. Don’t get me wrong, the majority of LEO types are dedicated to their work and deserve our support. Unfortunately, there are many who are just playing the political game. . . and they should be ashamed.
Last night, I took my first shower in 31 days. To say I enjoyed it would be just a bit of an understatement. A simple pleasure indeed.
In December, I had minor surgery on my R ankle, but unfortunately I didn’t exactly follow my post-op instructions and experienced some complications. Thus, I have been mostly on my back, foot in a splint and having to use a knee scooter to get around. The other day, I was cleared to start to bear weight using a “boot” and used that to be able to stand in the shower.
I am fortunate to have an outstanding ankle surgeon, who I have been going to for seven years now. We have several mutual friends and have grown to be on a first name basis. The office has a “Chief Morale Officer” named Enzo, (not the baker. Anyone get that?) Enzo has the run of the office, but is not allowed in any of the treatment rooms. He knows that I am one of a very few patients that have been authorized to give him treats, so when he sees me, he knows I have one for him. (Treats are monitored, otherwise he’d be a 100 lb Corgi.)
The picture is from the other afternoon when Enzo was pushing his boundaries in anticipation before the door was closed. I figured that was a better picture than my taking a selfie in the shower. 😉
Have a great week everyone. Hopefully, someone catches the “Enzo” reference and can tell me where it is from.
This piece is better known being played on a piano, but here is a beautiful rendition on an organ.
Hopefully, there comes a time in your life where you realize that each day is not one more day, but one less.
That realization should be a reminder to start giving more value to the things that truly matter.
This is an adaptation of a quote I found the other day. It is not mine, but when I screenshotted, I cut out the source, so my apologies to whoever posted it
