Note: Dates are first-come, first-served. We recommend selecting three potential dates for your MODS experience that work with your calendar. Remember to confirm your transportation (if needed) will be available on those days.

MODS Experience Acknowledgment

Payment:

When you call or go online to reserve, have your payment option ready. Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), check or PO number (for schools only). A 20% non-refundable deposit is required. Full payment is due prior to arrival at the Museum or STEMobile experience.

• Experience reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total due (whichever is greater) must be received no later than two (2) weeks after your reservation has been confirmed. Reservations without paid deposits are subject to cancellation.
• Accepted forms of payment include cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), check or PO number. Full payment is required in advance of arrival at the Museum.
• Refunds cannot be issued when cancellations are made less than seven days before scheduled experience (this includes all components of your booked experience: IMAX films, shows, labs, demos, STEMobile, Makerspace and more, and boxed lunch orders as well).
• PAYMENT ADDRESS – Please make checks or money orders payable to “Museum of Discovery & Science” and mail to: Museum of Discovery & Science Reservations Department, 401 SW Second Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. (Note: please place the reservation order number somewhere on your check.)
• Final payment is due 7 business days prior to the field trip unless you are from a school paying with a PO, and then full payment is due upon arrival at the Museum.
• The lead teacher is responsible for collecting payment from additional chaperones attending the field trip prior to arrival.
• Any chaperones not included in the reservation and choosing to pay separately will pay the regular Museum admission rate and will not be guaranteed seats in shows/activities scheduled for your field trip.
• Museum memberships are not valid for field trip entrance.
• Discounts (including passes or codes) cannot be applied to field trips. 
• Final headcounts must be provided 14 days in advance. There are no refunds for headcount changes on the day of arrival. The school is responsible for payment of the number reserved and confirmed at final head count deadline. There are no refunds for headcount changes on day of arrival. Increasing your head count is based on availability and not guaranteed.

Rescheduling Fee: If you reschedule your date, you will be charged a $75 rescheduling fee. Rescheduling cannot be guaranteed due to limited availability. Cancellation, “No Shows” and Refunds:

• Please notify the MODS staff at booking@mods.org if you need to adjust your group’s headcount, cancel or reschedule your visit.
• If you cancel or reschedule your field trip after your deposit due date, you will be charged a $75 rescheduling/cancellation fee.
• If you cancel your reservation 7 days or less before your visit, you will be charged 20% of your total amount, plus a $75 cancellation fee.
• There will be no refunds if your group is a no-show the day of your scheduled visit. You will be charged a “No Show” fee of $75, plus the full amount of your trip.

Late Payment Fee: If payment is received late (one day or more following the field trip), you will be charged a $75 late fee. If a purchase order is provided, you will be charged a $75 late fee if payment is received more than 10 business days following the field trip.

Buses and Parking: NEW POLICY! IMPORTANT-PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR BUS COMPANY:

• Our bus loop is an active loading/unloading zone only. Onsite parking is no longer available for buses. Please share this information with the bus company you have contracted.
• After your group has been dropped off for your visit, the buses should not return until they have been called to return or a scheduled pick-up time has been arranged between the lead chaperone and the bus driver.
• Please make sure to obtain the bus driver’s name and cell phone number to communicate effectively.
• All personal belongings and backpacks must remain on the bus. We provide a limited number of lockers for valuables.

Lunch:

• We now offer a designated area for your lunch time as part of your field trip schedule. Please note that our lunch areas are all outdoors.
• Groups that choose to bring their own lunches must pack them in coolers or boxes with the school’s name clearly labeled on them. NO GARBAGE BAGS ARE ALLOWED due to safety concerns. Lunches will be stored in an air-conditioned room until your designated lunch time.
• Upon arrival, the groups must unload their lunches and place them in the lunch bins provided to you. During departure, groups are expected to load the coolers or boxes back on the buses.
• If you ordered lunches through the Museum, they will be delivered to your group’s assigned lunch location.
• Lunch times are in 20-minute increments. Field Trip groups may not request specific lunch times. They are assigned according to your schedule.

The Day of Your Experience:

• Check in with a member of the Guest Experience team to sign paperwork and receive your itinerary.

Onsite at MODS Experiences:

• Confirm final total of students and adults attending/participating.
• Please arrive 15-30 minutes early for check-in with your completed paperwork (copy of your reservation number and signed confirmation).
• Lead teacher/chaperone will check with the Guest Experience team to receive instructions and complete payment. Your group will be seated at available tables in the courtyard until the check-in process is completed.
• The bus loop is an active loading and unloading area. Buses must drop off passengers and remain offsite until the group is ready to be picked up. There is no parking or standing allowed.
