What is the MOL Bubi service?

MOL Bubi is a public transport service provided by BKK, which you can use 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You can use the puncture-resistant, inflatable-tire bikes with the MOL Bubi app. After registering, you can use the bikes with a MOL Bubi Pilot Pass or a per-minute Pay As You GO usage fee.

How does MOL Bubi work?

MOL Bubi bikes can now be picked up and dropped off not only at 222 stations, but also at any of the 168 Mobi-points in District 6. This makes it even easier to combine cycling with public transport and try out one of the important new features of the next generation of Bubi: picking up and dropping off bikes at Mobi-points.

Pricing

You can use MOL Bubi with a single pass until mid-February. Choose the 500 HUF Pilot Pass if you cycle for at least 10 minutes until mid-February. With a valid pass, the first 30 minutes of each trip are free of charge. If you cycle for less than 10 minutes, choose Pay As You Go usage and you can ride for 50 HUF/minute after registering. .

Tips for safer cycling

Always give a clear hand signal and look behind you before you change direction.

At traffic junctions, seek eye contact with the other road users (pedestrians and drivers, too).

It is forbidden to hold your mobile phone while cycling. Please put your mobile into the holder for hands-free use. It is also dangerous to use earphones while riding a bike.

At intersections, use the advanced stop line (“bike box”). Depending on the traffic situation, it is recommended to make an indirect left turn.

Do not stay in a vehicle driver’s blind spot.

If the road is narrow, ride in the centre.

Ride past parked cars at a safe distance to avoid a door if it opens unexpectedly.

Enter one-way streets against the flow of traffic only where you see a sign allowing this.
