Dear Family,
I have a wonderful recipe for biscuits! It comes from an old recipe book I got from Grandma Jo Perry! I'm not sure how I got it but I have been carrying it around for many years. This winter while Maria and Kolbyn where here I tried this recipe. Its called "Edna Hill's Biscuits" This is the best biscuits you will ever make! Maria and Kolbyn will attest to this! Edna Hill was a very special person in the Placervile Ward I knew her when I was a new bride! She and her husband (who was also our Bishop) lived at Camp Nauvoo. They where the care-takers of the girls Camp! OK, here it is:
"Edna Hills Biscuits"
2 C. flour
1 T. sugar
4 t baking powder
1/2 t or dash of salt
1/2 C. shortening
1 beaten egg
2/3 C. milk
Combine egg and milk. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add milk. Dough will be sticky. Knead lightly on floured board about 20 strokes. Will be soft. Press gently on board into circles about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Cut and put on cookie sheet or cake pan and chill 1-3 hrs. or overnight with towel over it. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 min.
The next recipe I am often asked for is my Waffles.
This is my own recipe. I never really measure so the measurements are an estimate!
"Mom's waffles"
3 C. Whole wheat flour (or mixture of oats or corn with wheat)
6 eggs separated
1/2 t. salt
1 T. baking powder
about 2 C. milk or(butter milk)
Grind flour. Set in bowl. Add baking powder, salt. Separate eggs, yokes into flour bowl and whites in another bowl. Add 1 t. of white vinegar or cream of tarter to egg whites. Beat into stiff picks. Add milk to dry ingredient. Beat on high . If to thick add more milk, a little at a time. Batter should be the consistency of pancake batter but a little runnier . Fold beaten eggs whites into batter. Oil waffle pan liberally with each new waffle. Enjoy!!
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to go along with these recipes. I haven't learned how to do this yet. But I intend to in the near future!

My "Honest Scrap"
Honest Scrap....
I know you have most likely given up on me Mellissa. I've been thinking about this challenge for a while. So Here gos!
1. My favorite movies are Old English Victorian type romance movies that run in a series. I mostly watch them on PBS. I just love the sweet innocence, honesty and integrity they demonstrate. I also love the simple lives that usually accompanies these stories.
2. I love to lay down on my back on the couch and look up through the highest windows and watch the clouds move. I love to watch all the different shapes that form. It is very relaxing. Especially when no one is around and its quit. I can imagine all kinds of things when I'm watching the clouds go by.
3. I think I have the sexiest feet in town!
4.I've discovered that I like to go hiking in the mountains during the summer and fall.
5. I like to snow shoe.
6. I love to go to this candy shop in McCall and buy some of their different chocolates.
7. I would like to get veneers and a hair transplant treatment before I'm to old.
8. I'm so surprised how good a recipe turns out when I use it.
9. I think my husband is very very handsome!
10. I like Mexican music! It always sound happy!
