  Outside of work, you can find Tyler binge streaming a new TV series, cycling, or trying a new restaurant (foodie at heart)! He enjoys travelling, trying new recipes, and being in community with his loved ones. He’s willing to attempt almost anything at least once, even skydiving (although he opted out of jumping out of the plane at the last second 😅). He considers himself a lifelong learner and welcomes any opportunity to expand his knowledge.

  Laura nurtures fertile ground. Whether working in her home garden or mentoring our teams, she’s always sowing seeds and fostering growth. Driven by a passion for helping people, the planet, and the nonprofit sector thrive, she leverages her legal background, teaching experience and three decades of nonprofit leadership to work together with teams to build capacity and generate measurable impact. She considers herself truly fortunate to be able to spend her days joyfully helping our projects build high-performing teams, launch new programs, and scale their impact.

  Before joining Multiplier in 2013, Laura directed national policy research for an independent think tank that provides rigorous research, insight, and communications to advance LGBTQ equality and opportunity. Laura has a Juris Doctorate from Duke University School of Law and a Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management Certificate from Harvard Business School. Earlier career experiences include designing and teaching a Master’s level nonprofit leadership course, leading the formation of a place-based nonprofit focused on breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty; helping save two struggling civil rights organizations, serving as managing director of a women’s healthcare center; running a regional symphony orchestra; heading corporate communications for a Silicon Valley tech start-up; and serving as a senior leader for several disability-related and youth mentoring organizations.

  What brings Laura joy outside of work

  Laura lives in Bellingham, Washington and spends her free time with family and her rescued super-mutts Griffin and Karma. When she isn’t busy guiding Multiplier’s many amazing teams, she can be found working in her garden, forest bathing in the cedars, enjoying PNW oysters on the half shell, solving cryptic crosswords, watching Jeopardy, or engaging in a lively game of multilingual scrabble.

  Outside of work, Kristin, who, at an early chapter in her career, was a working chef (trained at the Ritz Escoffier) and a certified kettlebell instructor, can be found whipping up some spicy seasonal fare, listening to her favorite podcasts and audiobooks while trying to exhaust her pup Quinn, and hanging out with friends and family—especially at rock concerts. In addition to English, Kristin is fluent in French.

  Brenda was raised internationally – born in Mexico City, partially raised in India, attended middle school in South Carolina, high school in Wales, and college in Massachusetts. After Hampshire College, Brenda experienced diverse roles in advocacy as a youth program coordinator at a refugee resettlement organization, later as a bilingual counselor for survivors and victims of intimate partner violence, and finally as a peer recovery coach. As an anti-oppression practitioner, Brenda supports Multiplier’s community members in their connection to the work, community, and movement of anti-oppression. Her expertise is to go beyond the basics and facilitate transformative spaces for all to deepen their journey of turning silence into language and action.

  What brings Brenda joy outside of work

  To reground and reconnect with herself, Brenda dedicates herself to pottery, gardening and connecting with her communities. Brenda is reconnecting with her indigenous roots and is consistently active in decolonizing her mind, body and spirit. There’s nothing more nourishing for her than to sit still underneath the sun with nothing else to do than just to be.

  What brings Ben joy outside of work

  Outside of work, you’ll find Ben spending time with his family and nurturing his young son’s curiosity on every topic imaginable.  As a new resident of the Bay Area, Ben and his family are eagerly exploring all of the Bay Area’s outdoor wonders, rich cultural institutions and outstanding restaurants.  When Ben gets a few hours on his own you’ll likely find him digging through dusty stacks of records to add to his vinyl collection.

  Outside of work, Alice is a skilled alpinist and climber and serves as the Unit Leader for a volunteer Mountain Search and Rescue Unit. She enjoys climbing, backpacking and diving in new countries to satisfy her wanderlust (she’s been to 39 on six continents) and is a lover of all animals. In addition to English, Alice is fluent in Cantonese and can speak conversational Spanish.

  When not listening to The Indicator (her favorite podcast), Sheba is getting to know a new city on a walking tour or at an open mic, soaking up stories of people, place, and local pride. She’s passionate about the arts as a bridge to new ideas and likes to seek out or try her hand at creative ways to push beyond our mental models, from theatre to metal sculpture.   What brings Keith joy outside of work

  Keith served in the US Air Force for nearly 9 years including 3 years in the United Kingdom and 4 years working at an ROTC detachment in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Keith has been a fan of Sci-Fi/Fantasy books, movies, and games since he got his first Dungeons & Dragons set at age 8.  He has played World of Warcraft online for over 15 years.

  Katherine enjoys exploring the Hampton Roads and Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia with her husband and two boys, and can occasionally be found at the local yoga studio, jogging with her dog, Reese, or thrifting. With over a decade of experience in facilitation, community psychology, and coalition building, Izzy supports teams in building trust, surfacing influence and power, and aligning around shared purpose as a practice of solidarity.

  At Multiplier, Izzy leads ecosystem-building initiatives as core infrastructure for impact, designing power-aware facilitation processes, ecosystem maps, and capacity-building and advising models that help groups move resources, relationships, and strategy in alignment. Known for a steady presence in moments of ambiguity, Izzy helps groups move from shared intention to collective action.

  What brings Izzy joy outside of work

  Outside of work, you can find Izzy hiking, camping, writing music on their guitar & piano, and tending to their household pets and neighborhood cat colony. She also enjoys playing and modding video games like Skyrim, Stardew Valley, and the Sims.   While Tim has a breadth of knowledge about how to use technology in nonprofit settings and operational best practices, his most valuable skill is asking questions and listening deeply to understand the needs and goals of each organization. Ultimately, Tim believes that technology is just an accelerator to help people do their best work and to help organizations have a larger impact than they could otherwise.

  What brings Tim joy outside of work

  Outside of work, Tim enjoys hanging out with his wife of over 30 years and his three adult children – who still like to gather around to hear him read from the ultimate box set of Calvin and Hobbes. He loves many genres of music (classical, folk, Americana, 80s, New Wave, classic/indie rock…you get the idea) and has been a runner since finding his niche on the cross-country team in high school. Tim has also given his time and energy to his own and other men’s personal and spiritual growth work for 20 years.

  Miriam Billinger brings 25 years of experience in nonprofit and foundation financial analysis and management to Multiplier’s board of directors. With a passion for bridging the strategic, programmatic and financial elements of project implementation, Miriam lights up when she talks about the intersection of mission and money in nonprofits. Miriam’s nonprofit and philanthropic consulting focuses on enabling organizations to effectively leverage financial tools and analysis to raise money, spend and track it effectively, and increase impact. Previous roles include serving as Program Finance Officer for the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, where she was responsible for the financial aspects of a $300M+ grant portfolio, and serving as Assistant Finance Director at Humboldt State University’s Northern California Small Business Development Center where she was also focused on grants and grant making. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Accountant at Deloitte & Touche. Miriam holds a B.A. in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara, and is also trained in Facilitative Leadership. She lives in rural Northern California and is the proud mother of two awesome children who inspire her to work for a brighter future and a healthier planet.

  Jonathan Brack is the Program Manager for Fund for Shared Insight, a national funder collaborative seeking to improve philanthropy by promoting high-quality listening and feedback in service of equity. Prior to his current role, Jonathan was a strategic consultant working with innovative organizations to accelerate their impact. Earlier in his career, Jonathan was the Director of the Collaborative Impact Program at the Foundation for California Community Colleges, where he led the Foundation’s efforts to incubate, scale and sustain creative endeavors to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all Californians. He was also responsible for evolving the Foundation’s partnerships into a cohesive program and leading strategic efforts to broaden and increase the Foundation’s impact. Jonathan was also the Manager of Capacity Building for Tipping Point Community where he worked to bring talent management and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) resources to the nonprofit organizations that Tipping Point supports. While at Tipping Point, he also designed and implemented the Emerging Leaders Fellowship – a leadership development program for mid-managers of color. Jonathan was also on the original team at Code2040 that broke ground to increase the number of Black and Latinx engineers in Silicon Valley and was the Founding Director of the Berkeley Scholars Program, where he designed and directed an academic mentoring program for college-bound African American and Latinx youth. Jonathan holds a B.A. in history from University of California, Berkeley. In addition to his service to Multiplier, Jonathan also serves as a Board Member for Reaching At-Promise Students Association and has volunteered with California Education Learning Lab, the Hidden Genius Project, BUILD and The Surge Institute.

• Kayla Gebeck Carroll

  Kayla Gebeck Carroll is an attorney at Holland & Knight’s Public Policy and Regulation Group. She provides strategic advice and counsel, as well as develops federal advocacy strategies for corporations, coalitions, tribal governments, and Alaska Native Corporations before Congress and the executive branch. Before joining Holland & Knight, Kayla was a policy analyst for the Native American Finance Officers Association. In this position, she advocated the views and concerns of tribal governments in the areas of access to capital, tax and finance policy. She is passionate about building community and elevating the Indigenous voices in literature and academia and in 2020, she co-founded Well-Read Native.  She holds a B.A. in linguistics and Native American studies from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree in human rights law from SOAS University of London and a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the Georgetown University Law Center.

  Phillip Gover is a Policy Fellow & Senior Project Manager at the Center for Indian Country Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Prior to his current role, Phil was the Founding Director of the Sovereign Schools Projec, which partners with education nonprofits and tribes to build Native-community centered public charter schools in urban and rural areas of Oklahoma. In his role as Founding Director, Phil assists tribes with standing-up tribal charter school authorization offices, launching new public charter schools, and creating a long-term vision of a growing ecosystem of Native charter schools that affirm and celebrate indigenous history and culture. As part of his work, he founded and served as School Board President for Sovereign Community School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Earlier in his career, Phil was the Chief of Staff for the Oklahoma Region of Teach for America, where he was responsible for day-to-day management of the operations team, drafting the region’s medium and long terms strategic plans, establishing new relationships with tribal stakeholders through the region, and working to secure significant public funding for regional operations. Phil also served as the Associate Director of Admissions for Dartmouth College, as an admissions counselor at George Mason University, and a College Guide for College Advising Corps. Phil holds a B.A. in political and social thought and an MBA from University of Virginia.

  Paulina Lopez 

  Paulina Lopez has more than 25 years of experience working on issues of civil rights, social environmental justice, equity, education and diversity.  She is the Executive Director of the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition Technical Advisory Group where she leads efforts to elevate the voice of those impacted by the Duwamish River pollution and other environmental injustices for a clean, healthy, equitable environment for people and wildlife. Paulina is a highly regarded organizer, facilitator, community and policy strategist, and movement builder focused on building systems of power and shifting power outward to those most impacted by injustice and oppression. Prior to her current role, she was a board member for the Georgetown Community Development Authority, co-founder of the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps, and executive director/board president of the South Park Information and Resource Center. In addition to her service to Multiplier, Paulins is also a Board Member at the US Water Alliance. Paulina graduated from St. Thomas University with an LLM, Master of Law in Intercultural Human Rights.  Originally from Ecuador, Paulina has lived in the Seattle area for more than 20 years and enjoys time with her three boys.

  Giulia Siccardo is a clean energy and infrastructure expert with over 14 years of experience spanning critical minerals, grid and power systems, manufacturing, and mobility. She currently leads Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners’ North America operations, across investing, portfolio management, and fund formation, and serves on the firm’s Investment Committee. Quinbrook is a value-add energy infrastructure investor with a focus on energy transition.

  Previously, Giulia served in the Biden Administration as the inaugural Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Manufacturing & Energy Supply Chains, where she oversaw deployment of tens of billions of dollars in domestic infrastructure investments and workforce development initiatives. Earlier in her career, she was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where she advised leading investors and climate-tech ventures and co-founded Frontier, a $1B+ initiative to accelerate high-durability carbon removal.

  Giulia holds a dual BA from Dartmouth and an MBA from Harvard Business School and was recently appointed a Distinguished Industry Fellow at Dartmouth’s Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society.

He has completed more than $20 billion in investments, acquisitions, and dispositions spanning various industries and financing stages. Mr. Hu previously served as an Investment Director for a Single Family Office and as a Venture Partner for ARM IoT Fund. Tim founded Acuity Financial Services Group, completing more than 100 M&A transactions, and several hundred business valuation engagements for firms operating in the architectural, engineering and federal government contracting industries.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in natural resources (sustainability studies) from Virginia Tech University.
