It has been a minute!

I don’t know how to journal anymore, but um. Hi?!!!

This is cm.

Will 2021 be the year I come crawling back to Dreamwidth? MAYBE! (I was gonna say back to journalling, but I'm not sure there will be much journalling, as such. More like random outbursts of fannishness, if all goes well.)

To ease back into the game, a few things I have enjoyed recently:

While You Were Sleeping, which came recommended by china_shop for the OT3 vibes. Finished episode 4 today, which was SO SATISFYING!!! Also, Jung Hae-in's face is very good.

This Bridgerton fic (Simon/Anthony, 14k words, E), because of course.

Julie and the Phantoms, which was such a wholesome, weirdly engaging, colorful burst of energy at the end of last year. You can binge this for happy emotions! (Warning for dead mom notwithstanding.)

Remember My Name by Mitski, which was on a Julie and the Phantoms fanmix I liked.

This recipe for honey pistachio cookies, browned butter and everything. THESE ARE SO GOOD OMG.

Wow hi it's been a while again, hasn't it. I love seeing everyone's December topic meme posts! (Or whatever it's called, you know what I mean.) We basically continue to be useless when it comes to actual blogging and just press convenient buttons on Tumblr instead. Anyone on Tumblr we aren't following yet?

I've spent the year either working or doing OTW stuff, leaving me with little energy for anything else. My finished kink_bingo line remains my biggest fannish accomplishment of the year, whoo. My biggest non-fannish accomplishment, I guess, was being interviewed on TV for being a sign language interpreter interpreting on TV. It was a so-so experience, but something to tell my non-existent grandkids about, at least.

I might make a bigger post about my OTW committee management endeavours, but I might also use the holidays for other exciting pursuits, such as... more committee management. HEY THE ARCHIVE IS STILL STANDING LET'S REJOICE! \o/

Randomly, cm is now back to school on top of being full-time employed. In between work and classes she types fic into chat and then we post some of it after assembly and beta and whatnot. So that's two of us not updating this thing, ever. Oops. Also, we stopped crossposting to LJ, because LJ kind of freaks me out now. I don't know anyone anymore, except the people who also moved to DW. So we might just lock it down and abandon it at some point, idk. We'll see!

ANYWAY IF YOU WANT TO GIVE US STUFF-- ahem, here's our fandom_stocking stocking lalala. I might try and fill some myself, seeing as how I only managed some greetings from cm's couch last winter and might have some time between the holidays this year. WE SHALL SEE.

Hello gentle yuletider! I am really sorry for being so late, and if you have clicked on this previously and gone "well she is PANTS" yes this is kind of true. Mostly it's that I have had precious little time the past few days though, and I am SUPER SORRY. BUT ANYWAY I AM HERE NOW HI I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS.

This is what I wrote last year, gentle yuletider, and this year is apparently more of the same. Sorry to make you wait! On the plus side, I believe I'm earlier this year, so yay! I love you, yuletider, and thank you for writing for me. Hello! from a rather...run-down resort type thing that I remember being far less run-down during my childhood, but then my childhood was rather a while ago, so that might explain a bit. I have been informed by co-journaller that I simply must make a year end post since I haven't in...a while, so here it is.

I wrote some stuff this year! I switched fandoms! Well, same Marvel universe so technically just one step to the left or right, but you know. Asgard fic is more fantasy than sci-fi?

Sooooo, I didn't manage to write that post I've been meaning to write for weeks, and I didn't manage to fill all the fandom stockings I've had open in tabs for just as long, and I defaulted on my Yuletide assignment even though it was the perfect prompt, and generally I didn't get any fun stuff done at all and felt really bad about letting people down :-(

BUT ON THE UPSIDE:

All my invoices for 2012 have been sent, most of the paperwork for my accountant is prepared, all outstanding tasks have been neatly put down on various lists, and my email inbox has been cleared. As far as I can remember, this has never happened before. I am also currently in Singapore, i.e. with co-journaller! Which *has* happened before, but not with that clean a slate to come home to.

So hey! And there's five days left to fill stockings, so we'll see! ...it'll be humble well wishes, probably, given my limited resources here. /o\

When I wasn't working or doing work-related things, I mostly did OTW/AO3 stuff and prepared things for the next term, during which I will be chairing the ADT committee (the what?), which I guess is kind of like work, only without the money part. I don't intend to talk about the OTW very much in this space, but if there's anything you'd like to say or ask me about ~the Archive~ please always feel free!

In actually fannish news, Thor! And Loki! ...and that's it. As usual, we've been mostly huddling in our little fandom corner of two and giggling about really ill-advised story ideas, some of which actually end up on the AO3 before we can think better of it. Sometimes co-journaller will paste me prompts from the norsekink meme and we'll go, "Thor would never!!!" a lot and then return to browsing the Thorki tag on Tumblr. This is what has become of us. *makes sad eyes at XMFC people*

In closing, let's talk about the Leverage finale and how utterly and overwhelmingly perfect it was, BECAUSE IT WAS SO UTTERLY AND OVERWHELMINGLY PERFECT OH MY GOD I CAN'T EVEN WORDSSSSS

So, with the holiday season approaching and whatnot, I thought I'd put together one of those little "give me stuff!" posts people love so much. (They do, right?) Fun times!

Okay I have four days to finish my kink_bingo line and I'm totally blocked on fisting/stretching. I'm going for a rec set, because I can't think of anything more creative to do, and I'm having the toughest time collecting works to rec. I've read like half the fics on AO3 tagged Vaginal Fisting (as one does), but none of them really did it for me? So right now I have some unspeakably filthy Kid Loki/Thor porn and some humorous knotting going for me. And a Tony/Hulk-ish thing. AND NO VAG IN SIGHT ANYWHERE. This is distressing.
