Canyonlands- Escape from The White Rim Trail Day 4- 25 miles

Image
Now it was time to leave the amazing back country of Canyonlands. So off we went.
Image
My view from the suburban...looks like a tight squeeze...right?
Image
Not so much for the bike...
Image
Too funny! Look how I'm hugging that wall and look at how much room I have! What in the world!

This sign makes it looks like we were done but Oh No! We still had to climb up and out of Mineral Bottom Road. These boys may be smiling now but that had a killer mountain to climb.

 Still having fun...

This is what they had to ride up!
Image
Can you spot the old wrecked car?
Image
 The switchbacks..up...up...up
Image
But of course they made it!
Image

Image

Image
But we still had miles to cover before we were on pavement again...

Image
 Hello gorgeous

 Cresting over the finish...

Image
But wait... All the odometers are different and Ezra does not feel complete...so he rides on
Image
Jacob and I drive on until we come to a turn off for a vista point and hope now Ezra has the mileage he hoped for... He was still a bit short so he rode laps around the parking lot...

 Victory Lap!

Image
Now that is more like it. Ezra wanted to ride 100 miles because that is what the White Rim Trail is said to be and he did it!
Image
I think these boys definitely deserved some ice cream back in town... after some real food of course.
Image

Image
Time to crash for the little one
Image
So proud of these boys and so happy they have a dad to take them on these crazy adventures.

Moab was a great place to visit. We will definitely be back! So much more to do...

Canyonlands- White Rim Trail Day 3/4

This was my favorite campsite of all.
Image
You know how it says we came from the dust. Jacob came from this dust.

Oops! That shot was for me ;)

Camping along the Green River again. So beautiful!
Image
Since we actually had some spare time on Thursday, even with our hike to the ruins, I wanted to go on a little ride up one of the canyons near by. There were these crazy looking tubers growing in the side of the canyon.
Image
The ride pretty much sucked. I have no idea how Shelby got a picture of me smiling. It must have been on the way out or in before we hit all the sand. We gave up and headed back and Ezra got a bloody nose.
Image
He was still smiling though!
Image

Image
I think this is sunset but it could be sunrise and obviously I'm cooking something.
Image
There were these cool planes that flew right over us and then came down low flying right over the river.
Image
Did you know Chevy Suburbans have built in bike stands?

Goofy Ezra ready for the last day of riding.
Image
Jacob is too cool

Rocking the socks with sandals!

Our Raven friend.
It seems as if he/she followed us from camp to camp but it was probably a different one each time. It would always swoop in as we were leaving scavenging for leftovers. I don't think it had much luck as we were practicing "leave no trace"!!
Now time for the ride out of The White Rim Trail...
