Tarot quiz borrowed from weneh
You are The StarHope, expectation, Bright promises. The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one. that's right...I -AM- the pumpkin king!
My day was just so downhill. Unfortunately not in the sense that it just kept getting easier and faster. More so that things just kept piling up on me it seemed. Redundant questions and voice mails from work, problem accounts, a leg cramp that took forever to stretch out, a friend who was unable to visit.... I got home and found out that a girl who used to live in my neighborhood when I was in my early to mid teens and had a small crush on me at one point committed suicide a day or two ago. According to my mom (who relayed some of the info from my sister to me) noone knew she was in mental trouble. I tried setting up a micro version of the annual haunted garage for the front doorstep but things just weren't working out so I had to abandon the idea. This is another thing I've had some trouble with this week. I love the tradition my family has had of putting on a small free haunted house type thing. I grumbled my way through supper. Stacie and C were so patient with me. I don't know how they did it. It did help some. After supper Stacie rushed C into her costume (as much as a C can rush (oy) ) and I was still mopey enough that I didn't know if I even wanted to don my reaper costume to answer the door in. Carolyn told me I should do it anyway so I did. Looking in the mirror at myself (in costume) must have ignited a tiny spark. There still glowed the fires of an evil jack o lantern inside that a minor depression couldn't hold back. The girls left to go gather a ton of unneeded candy and I began watching a zombie flick. I remained in costume for the first hour and a half which, despite the lack of extra decor scared the pop tarts out of a few kids. After a while the costume just got too hot inside our house (man would it have been great out in the garage ). Shortly after removing the multi-layered costume, the entire cheerleading squad from our local junior high showed up (costumes ranged from "dork" to a few farm animals and even a very original one "cheerleader" (yea not sure how she came up with it!)). One somewhere within the first 1/3 of them (yes there was a PACK) asked me if we were doing the haunted house this year. I said that I wasn't able to this year but that I would be sure to do it next year. It was as if someone had shown them a video of a baby seal being beaten. The sighs and awww's echoed through the pack. I knew that several kids liked it last year but to hear this pack express how much they were looking forward to it made me feel pretty good. I can hardly wait til next year now! Sometimes a series of unfortunate events is answered with a series of ones we just need to take notice of. Tomorrow Stacie will be sifting through a couple of our halloween stores to find the 1/2 price gems for adding to next years scarefest. Hopefully tomorrow night I will also be able to pick up my new cell phone (crosses fingers).

cough cough and the insomnia it causes
I could probably count up the total hours of sleep I've had this weekend on a hand or two. Not for fun reasons either. Gosh, if it was from overendulging in fun activities I would have had the BEST weekend EVER. But no. I have some sort of bronchitis that the regular old OTC tussin cf isn't knocking out of me. Hopefully this afternoon's doctor appointment can come up with a solution. Stacie actually called in for me today because I had little or no voice and couldn't come up with enough time between coughs to call. Bleck. (feeling lazy so if my song thing is incorrect deal with it) Current Mood: sleepy |

changes
argh...haven't posted in forever again. Work has been annoying lately. My bosses have flat out lied to me on a few occassions where a lie was completly unnecessary. Example 1: I was told a display of books was left at the warehouse because it was "forgotton". I probably would have accepted the excuse had that particular box not been ON TOP OF all the other totes he had to take out that day. This made it so that I would have to take the display in the following week. thanks. There have been a couple of other times that I have caught them silently on these fibs. One of my coworkers and I have been noticing them more and more. Might put in an application at Sports Authority or anywhere I can find something with hours I can fit into this schedule of ours. To those who don't read my myspace status updates, I've joined 24hr Fitness. I've completed my sessions with my personal trainer and will be launching out on my own this week along with my new "diet." Diet in quotes because most people associate diets with losing weight and cutting carbs/calories and whatnot. I'm actually increasing my calorie intake while trying to watch out for evil things like fats and salts and whatnot. My goal isn't to look like a bodybuilder but if things go right I will put on some reasonable weight in muscle. Again, NOT working twards pro wrestler sizes. The online nutrition program they have us put our food info in is pretty interesting. It makes it much more natural to look at a label and go "deyaaaaaaam that's got a crapload of sodium!" or "WTF....this says it has fiber but it has less than the stuff that doesn't even mention it!" So anyway yeah it's a bit of a lifechange. I've always kept mostly in shape through running/hiking/biking and stuff but it's been a while since I've had weight training and I've never actually gone with a diet planning thing such as we're on. Should be interesting. It's already given staceid and me something new to talk about in our free time. We've also started a semi-regular board game night with C. Sorry night went well but Upwords night was a bit of a struggle. Upwords is like Scrabble except you can stack tiles as well basically. We may try monopoly (one of the 7+ versions we own) or regular scrabble next week. In baseball news: CUBS LOST! hehehehehe Ah! That reminds me. I picked up an obscure baseball game at the store this past week called MLB Po Pros. The game has been around in different incarnations since the Super Nintendo in Japan apparently. Recently it's been ported over to the PS2 and Wii. WOW is it neat. All the players have been adapted into lil mii-like dudes with their trademark expressions, hair/eyes/facial hair. The amazing part is while the players are a bit toy-like in appearance the stats and abilities go VERY in depth. I'll spare the non gamers and non baseball ppl from a full discussion on it. I'm sure he'll post as soon as he can but I'm so bouncy that I just have to announce that ballawax has landed in the USA again. He's currently going to the demobilization process. If all goes right then I should be seeing him over the 4th of July festivities here. Yet another thing to be excited about! Current Mood: bouncy |

Play Ball!
wiiiiiiiii Tuesday I get to dive further into a baseball addiction when The Bigs comes out. It only compounds my addiction that I'll be able to play it on the Wii. Swinging the wiimote for at-bats...tossing a slider by pulling down on the wiimote and giving it a slight twist at just the right moment *shiver* Fortunately we have grips on our wiimotes so I'll be able to resist the pine tar ;). Click on the link 'the bigs'! The game has a kick ass soundtrack that ranges from Janes Addiction to Blue October to White Zombie and stuff. The site has a pretty decent audio stream of them that you can scroll through. Current Mood: anxious |

wonder of wonder miracle of miracles
wow I guess I went another long stretch without a post. oops. Well the last week or so has been fairly eventful. Last weekend a friend from KC invited me on a trip down to Texas to see ballawax who was staying with his parents on a 2 week leave from his deployment. It was so nice to be able to see him again after the long time span. Not too much has changed about him aside from his new skin tone, heh. FYI Midland TX in a once a year tsunami isn't all that beautiful. Oh and DO NOT go to wal-mart there on a monday at the beginning of the month. WOW. When I got back to town I found out that our basement had about an inch of water/mud in part of it from the idiot construction crew causing one of the lines to back up. Thanks peeps. I have yet to mop it up much but this will hopefully be done by Sunday...hopefully. I haven't posted random tidbits in a while either so here we go: I aced/got a medal of honor in blazing angels on the pearl harbor mission a few days ago with 72 out of 40 kills needed in an almost flat 9 minutes out of a par twenty something minute goal. I must say that they really did a good job on making it feel real. The sounds of the other pilots going down was eerie at times. Got my gold medal in all the baseball mini tests on wii sports....went pro in tennis finally. umm got a cut on the bottom of my foot last night. someone gave me a standing liberty quarter in my change the other day. woot oh and I found an interesting short series of books by Mel Odom at the library that involve a halfling librarian in a fantasy adventure. FIGHT ON LIBRARIANS! Hopefully I'll remember to write more often. Current Mood: rejuvenated |

third star from the right
My workplace finally did something right for me! I got to trade off my hellish Thursday which consisted of a very anal and yet unorganized (go figure) giant Target store. In turn I now deliver to one small adult store and then I drive waaay down the road towards Winfield,MO. I then have one small IGA (grocery chain) and two tiny gas stations called Fastlane. Oh and here's a fun tidbit of info. One of the Fastlanes is literally at the junction of a pig farm, a corn field and a soybean field. yep. Current Mood: relieved |

If noone's interested I'll just plan on doing this by myself but if a few people are or if you think I should go ahead and make a paypal account for it then I'm all for doing this in rememberence of a great guy. Tears in Heaven (Clapton)
It was late last night when I decided I just couldn't battle the drowsiness in my eyes. I had no more fight in me. I took care of all I needed to do and then called it a day. So did my Grandpa. Within seconds of when I lay down he passed away. He's fought enough. He's taken care of all of us and needs not to worry anymore. He's called it a life. Thank you Grandpa. You did good. somewhat of a post
(if you are really anal about things then don't read this until tomorrow sometime) Happy New Year! Maybe I'll resolve to post more often. Maybe make sure people don't label me by expressing more of my points of view. I guess if you don't really let everything out then the only bits that you have let out become the perception of your persona. Ah, communication, you demon, I will conquer you. lol PS and may I add that I really miss seeing Drooo around for at least one of the winter holidays. Current Mood: annoyed |
