My Misguided Fairytale

About Me

This is the LiveJournal account of the illustrious My Misguided Fairytale, also known as Jess. I am a fanfiction writer residing primarily in the Yugioh! corner of things, but I also enjoy Death Note, Bleach, and Full Metal Alchemist. I am a frequent participant in the YGO Fanfiction Competition over at FF.net (and also its Season 8 and 10 Champion) and I have recently taken to participating in the YGO Drabble and YGO Rare Pair communities as well. I write longfics, I drabble, I write just about any pairing under the sun. Friend me, comment on my works, and make my day. =)

[fanfiction] Homecoming

Title: Homecoming
Genres: Mystery, Angst
Word Count: 3,240
Summary: There are a great many things she can think of that are in need of rebuilding, and this house is the least of them.
A/N: Written for the Unconventional Courtship Harlequin AU fic challenge, using summary #15, The Officer and the Lady, as my inspiration. I’ve changed two things about the original prompt, namely giving it a Regency England setting and switching the gender roles. This features the YGO pairing of Obscureshipping (Ishizu x Shaadi). There are no canonical names for Mr. and Mrs. Ishtar, but I have given them the names Nassor and Panya, respectively. I hope you enjoy the story.

Author's Note: Some things I wish we would have seen in episode 1.17, “Love Sick,” as flashbacks; I found it fascinating that Grimm blood could cancel out Hexenbiests’ identities, so I wondered if perhaps the powers could be given in a similar kind of ritual. The quote is from the original Grimm version of Little Snow-White. First-Place Winner of the 3rd Grimm Challenge! I hope you enjoy.

Summary: Famed bandit Mai Valentine's Wanted posters don't do her justice. / Wild West AU, Bribeshipping Mai x Rex, Arrogantshipping Mai x Seto
A/N: Written for the YGO Fanfiction Contest, Season 10, Round Four, with the pairing of Bribeshipping (Mai Valentine x Rex Raptor), although the story also features a hint of Arrogantshipping (Mai x Seto Kaiba). I'm using the dub names as this is a Wild West AU, so expect plenty of bandits, stagecoach robberies, and general lawlessness. =) This is a story I've wanted to write for awhile now, so I hope you enjoy it! The notes at the end are expanded from the FF-posted version.
