School Year Photos 2011-2012

The 2012-2013 school year is about to start.  Which means I'd better post photos from LAST school year!  =)  Enjoy the pics!  http://www.flickr.com/photos/icesk8ter/sets/72157631029197760/

Catching Up... on Summer 2011

Does anyone still read this blog?  I haven't updated it in about a year!  It's just so much easier to upload photos on Facebook.  =)  But anyway, I am still paying for a Flickr account so I might as well use it!  Here are the pics from Summer 2011 (July-August) when Ellie was a teeny, tiny baby and Isabelle enjoyed lots of trips to Great America (she didn't like the rides but she liked all the shows).

Summer Camp

Ah, it was the start of Summer and Isabelle went to camp. She had so much fun! It was the first time we weren't together for an entire morning. Read more and see the pics at http://www.flickr.com/photos/icesk8ter/sets/72157626950454320/

Welcome, Baby Ellie!

ImageOn March 7, 2011 at 8:18am, we welcomed Eleanor Shuet-Yun Eng into our family. She weighed 8 lbs 3oz and was 21" long. She ate well and slept well and didn't vomit all over the place like her Big Sister. Breastfeeding was challenging for the first 2 months but we finally grew into it.

It was difficult choosing her name... once again we wanted 3 syllables, doesn't end in the letter "a", and not a name of anyone we knew. I liked the nickname "Ellie" and had to decide on a name to go with it so I chose Eleanor. Brian liked the name "Coraline" (because it was sort of like a 3-syllable version of "Quorra" from the Tron movie) but it reminded me of the dark (and disturbing?) Tim Burton movie (think rag doll with button eyes). Brian was finally ok with the name "Eleanor" after a friend mentioned that was the name of THE car in Nicolas Cage's movie "Gone in 60 Seconds. (What IS it with guys and cars?). So I guess you can say our 2nd daughter is named after a fictional 1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500.

Ellie's middle name was easier... the first character is her last name. The 2nd character is the same as the 2nd character as her older sister, which translates to "snow". The 3rd character I asked my parents to choose. See, how easy is that? =) It's pronounced "Yun" and means "happy". She is definitely one happy (and smiley) baby!

Special thanks to the Eng Grandparents and Poon Grandparents for coming to stay with us for a few weeks each! Couldn't have survived the first few months without you!

Catching Up on Xmas 2010, New Year's, and Month 35

Ok... it's July 2nd right now and my goal for this long weekend is to catch up on the family blog. Ha! I've FINALLY uploaded the pics from the rest of the winter season. So time for some Xmas in July... check it all out in this Flickr album (it's easier for me to upload to Flickr than to Blogger): http://www.flickr.com/photos/icesk8ter/sets/72157626826004439/
