Lucky 7

Today Carter turns 7. Sometimes I wish time would just stop. I love this guy so much!

Carter's Top 5:

1: Carter loves soccer, when he gets bigger he is going to play soccer for the olympics

2. When Carter grows up and is done playing soccer, he is going to be a scientist

3. Carter is in 1st grade, he wishes he were back in kindergarten, in the afternoon, with his old teacher.

4. Carter loves $. He has $50 saved right now. He said he was going to save until he was a millionaire. 

5. Carter tried water skiing this summer, he can't wait until next summer so he can do it again.

Field Trip Friday: The Capitol Building

Today we went and took tour of the capitol building. The kids had a great time. They loved how big it was, they love the elevator (we went in it like 10 times) the chamber rooms and they thought it was cool that we could go under ground.  After we were done it was so hot that we stopped at BK for Icees.

Carter didn't pass any of his hearing screenings at school. We tried tubes in his ear and when that didn't work we had a catscan to see what was wrong. He had some bone issues that were preventing the ear drum from working properly. So on Friday we went in for surgery. Carter was a trooper. His surgery was scheduled 12:45 but of course they were behind and his surgery didn't happen until 4:30. Poor Carter was starving. The surgery went great. On our way home I stopped and got Carter some french fries, chicken nuggets, and a frosty, but that wasn't enough so he also had a bowl of popcorn and bowl of cereal. Carter is doing well, the back of his ear is all stitched up the day after he was sore and had some vertigo. But lucky kids heal quickly.

I think at one point there was 10 kids hanging on that thing.

Field Trip Friday: The History Museum

 Today the kids and I made our way over the the History Museum. The kids have never been and I'm pretty sure I haven't been for 10 years. We had a great time. Unfortunately my camera died so I only have a few pictures.

 We went on a scavenger hunt. They gave the kids a list of pictures 

and they had to mark them off after we found them.

 Sam on the saddle. I told him to say cheese. He said "no cheese"

They had an exhibit of old toys Sam cried and cried saying "open, open please!"

After the museum we went and hung out with Abe. 

The kids wanted to know if this is how big he really was.

TWO!

My dear sweet, wild and crazy Sam has turned 2.

Happy Birthday Sammy! We're glad you came to our family.

1. Sam LOVES balls. He always has one with him and if there is one

 around he can't focus on anything else.

2. Sam can usually be found carrying a purse. He uses it to hold important things,

like cars, balls and anything he stole from Kate or Carter.

3. Sam loves to wrestle. If you're sitting or laying on the floor, be careful, 

it's an open invite for a wrestle session.

4. Sam loves fruit snacks and can eat up to 10 bags in one sitting.

5. Sam likes to pretend he his a dog. He will play fetch and do tricks

Today Katelyn is 4. Where do the years go? I'm so glad she came to our family.

1. Katelyn loves Fancy Nancy. Everyday she dresses "fancy"
2. Katelyn wants long hair. She is going to grow it as long a punzals. (rapunzals)
3. Katelyn's favorite color is pink and sparkles
4. Katelyn loves to look at herself in the mirror
5. Katelyn loves lip gloss. She never leaves the house without it.
