Married life is good, although its pretty much the same as non-married life. So yeah, still good.
I really don't have anything real to bitch about, so I bitch about that. I work a lot but feel idle too much. I keep telling myself I'll back to school to do something like cure herpes. I think that is part of the reason I feel some dissatisfaction with my job. The other is that I want to be paid more for my time since its being wasted on something that ultimately doesn't matter.
On a more light-hearted note, I wanted to shoot a child today. To be fair, it was a toddler that didn't know her 20 minutes of delightful squealing was driving me up the wall while trying to work. At this point you might be thinking: "Adam, why is a toddler playing loudly at your place of work?" This would be the right question to ask.
The answer is that the parents, one of whom is a faceless businessman, was watching their child play after lunch in the open area outside the diner. My work spot is a floor up and actually a few dozen feet away from there. The shrills of this child plus the acoustics have the ability to overpower the audiobook I was listening to while coding. You'd think audiobook + coding could hold my attention, but NOOO. So after about 15 minutes of this constant noise, I walked to the railing and watched, hoping the parents of this bastard would notice an irritated employee. Of course, this did not happen since they're inconsiderate. In any case, I thought hard about having my nerf gun and shooting the child.
I know this is all very passive aggressive, but I can't afford to be anymore vocal about displeasure at work since I've bitched a lot already. I'd share that, but its another story. |

Well I'm only posting because Pitchfork's Best of 2006 gave me LCD Soundsystem's 45:33. I got the newest album which has a few good tracks on it even though some of them are from 45:33.
Back to editing the couple of chapters of my crappy novel. |

Well, it wasn't as long as I wanted. The week went by too fast. I guess I needed more time to be lazy.
Pitchfork came out with their Top 50 Albums of 2006. After looking at the previous years, I wasn't expecting much even though I still download and try to listen to some of it. This year's #1 is actually very good. Although the list is still full of a lot of rap. Not that it all necessarily bad, its just they always have a disproportionate amount. So I have a new group to obsess over for a bit. |

I finally have a week off where I can stay home and do nothing. Will I relax or claw my eyes out from boredom after one day? We'll have to see.
I'm relistening to all the Goldfrapp I downloaded months ago. After hearing the songs on Target commericials and phone commericials, I guess they're in fashion.
And I'm out of journal steam again..... |

I'm thankful for money.
I just earned $1.17 in interest in a savings account (omgz I'm actually saving). The feeling of earning money simply by having it is very interesting.
Oh yeah, see Casino Royale. It is much much much better than Happy Feet (which turns out a lot weirder than I expected).

Zelda and I are moving to a new apartment. Its 500 feet away in the same complex. 20%-25% more square feet for 10-15% more moneyz. Seems good to me.
I'm getting reorganized at work. The current team I'm on usually does work that is totally separate from mine. I'm being put on a new research/experiment team. It feels like a step up anyways, hopefully I'll get more cash thrown my way when its review time (which is soon).
I got a nice traffic violation notice in the mail. 100 bucks for taking a right turn when the sign says not to. Stupid cameras.
In lighter news, I've been blowing way too much money on comics. It feeds my need for art, reading and collecting all in one. It doesn't help that Zelda loves them too so I can't rely on her to make me stop. Oh well. |
