Relocation
Moving to a new place is hard. We all want to live in a neighborhood that is crime free, quiet, and well maintained. Neighbor Report lets you view complaints filed with your city's 311 line or submitted by our users. This includes code violations, reports of garbage not being removed, malfunctioning lights, broken windows, or loud music. Knowing a neighborhood's history in advance can help you avoid many problems.

Current Neighbors
Explore the local community. Get to know your future neighbors. Neighbor Report is a place where residents can share advice and recommendations, alert each other to problems and issues, and resolve disputes peacefully. We think that the current residents of a neighborhood are the most accurate source of information about it.

Anonymity
If you live in a neighborhood or community that is ultra conservative or simply dangerous, you may feel fearful or threatened when you share a complaint, comment, or opinion. But how can we fix a problem, if we aren’t talking about it freely? We believe that anonymity is crucial to freedom and universal progress. We don't endorse reports and comments, but we believe in giving every voice a chance to be heard. Discuss your community's problems without revealing your name.

311 / 911 services
Hundreds of thousands of code violation reports and 311 complaints are received by American cities each year. Many cities post this data on their websites in machine-readable formats—large CSV files, datasets, etc. We use 311 reports data to create a neighborhood portrait. This allows us to highlight the most typical problems faced by local residents. Use Neighbor Report to get familiar with the neighborhood—you may find info about problems that a real estate agent might not mention.

Good Morning, my neighbor is building a fence around the from yard but also has a bunch of trash in from
The neighbors were alright however I do not suggested renting 1520 chambers house because the landlord is awful and the house is infested with black mold Inside the walls the landlord refuse to do repairs the bedroom closest to the front door isn't insulated I lived in this bedroom and no matter what I did to get rid of the mold it was temporary it grew back in less than a month
This is a photo of the backyard of 2638 15th Avenue, San Francisco, CA. The backyard vegetation has grown unchecked and now is growing into the structure of the exterior wall of the house. It blocks any exit from the rear of the house. There are open orders of abatement dating back a few years. The backyard is home to a large population of rodents that bedevil adjacent properties and the neighborhood in general. The vegetation invades adjacent properties and has pushed over fencing. The SF DBI hasn't been able to resolve this and seems helpless to act.
reporting an ongoing issue with the pine trees located in my neighbor’s backyard, which directly border my property. Most of the trees appear dry or neglected, and their branches frequently fall into my yard, creating constant debris and maintenance problems. The situation has become a safety concern, especially during windy conditions, as large dry branches fall unexpectedly. These trees have not been trimmed or maintained in a long time, and I am worried that they may cause damage to my home or pose a risk to my family. I have tried to manage the cleanup myself, but the volume of falling debris is excessive. I kindly request that this issue be reviewed and addressed by the appropriate city department before it leads to further consequences. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
driving on the wrong side of the road without waiting to make sure it is clear
for over a year cynthia has lived at 3885 harlan st and her and her company have no respect for there neighbors they blast there car stereos all times of the day and night what do I need to do
For 3 years since the neighbors moved in, it has been dogs every day. We love animals and have had pets throughout our lives. The difference is that we trained our dogs and have respect for people, our neighbors etc. For three years solid ot has been barking morning, noon, night and every hour in between. We're waken with dogs barking, we come home from work with dogs barking, we go to sleep with dogs barking. We can't step outside on our back patio without getting barked at. It's old, rude, inconsiderate and giving me borderline ptsd. We can't open our windows for fresh air in the the fall time, never-ending, everyday, all day.
dangerous trash piles (To animals and humans), have been sitting in front of the home.
The second and third floor tenants store things in front of the front door to the apartment on the first floor without the first floor tenant's permission. The stuff stinks so much you can smell it inside the first floor apartment with the front door closed.
The second and third floor tenants sometimes leave the front door wide open. Three times I've seen a skunk running up the inside stairs and once I saw a groundhog on top of some stuff that they store in front of the front door to the apartment on the first floor without the first floor tenant's permission.

About us
Neighbor Report is a result of creativity and hard work from a small team of developers, one of whom is extremely passionate about data science. Official data (311 reports, code violations) speak about a city's problems more eloquently than any journalist. We see crime on the rise, an aging infrastructure, and a disastrous lack of funding. Our users' comments and reports amplify the picture with new data that the authorities may not know yet.
