Big Tony

Oscar was putting his church shoes on.  They are slip on's and getting a little tight but he can still squeeze into them with a little extra effort.  We were in a hurry as usual.  Everyone is waiting in the car.  Then he says:

"Come on Big Tony!"

Me-  haha Is that what you call your toes?

Oscar-  haha  Ya, sometimes.  haha

Turkeys for everyone!

 Larkin and I were reminiscing about a fun weekend trip we took with the Pinegars(Blake's cousins) last summer.  We went bowling on that trip. 

Joe almost got a turkey.  Oscar thinks he is the best bowler in the world.  "The Master Bowler" if you will. 

 Then Larkin said this: 

It'd be cool when you were bowling that if you got a Turkey they gave you a Turkey.  But not a live turkey.  You wouldn't want that.  Or would you?  ...  Nope, the poop.  I forgot about that.

Warning

Lilly recently earned A LOT of change.  She did it by memorizing The Family, A Proclamation to the World.

Quite a feat! 

She just asked me if we could take her coin rolls to the bank and exchange them for dollars.  

I recommended that she not get anything larger than a 20 dollar bill telling her that it's hard to get stores to except large bills.  

Then Larkin quickly said, "And all that power will go to your head."

When Lilly wants to say something is perfect she says it's "perfecto patronum".

Valentines

Larkin made each one of the members of our family a valentine.  

She had fun hiding each one where she knew we would find them.  

It's all about the little things for her.

She told me where she hid her dad's.

She told me where her little brother could find his.  

Lilly would find her's quickly.

I wondered where she would put mine.

Everyone found theirs first thing in the morning but me.

I kept expecting her to try and give me hints as we went on with our day.  It would be just like her to worry that I wouldn't find it.  

I found it. 

It was in my scriptures.  I'm glad she knows that I would find it there. 

The girls were talking about what day of the week that their birthday would fall on next year.  

Then Oscar asked:

When is my birthday day, Mom?

Me:  July 7

Oscar:  Again?

Obeying his father

I was doing my hair to get ready for church.  I could see Oscar in the mirror giggling trying to sneak up behind me.  He tiptoed in and pinched my bum.  He giggled some more and ran.  Then I hear him say from the other room:

"I did it Dad!"

Health tips from Oscar

Oscar:  Mom, do you know what the healthiest food in the world is?  I would say water ... and soup.  Oh and dinner.  Dinner is the best.  Everyone should love dinner. 

As his mother, my only question is, if this is his opinion, why does he cry every time I tell him it's time for dinner. 

A better world?

Larkin:  If money didn't exist, everyone would just live in a casino...whatever that is.

Stake Conference

A few weeks back we had stake conference. (Aunt Miranda was visiting! It was awesome! But that's not what I'm writing about.)

We sat on the back row.
Being so far back they had a screen set up for the back half of the congregation to watch.

As we sat and waited for the meeting to begin I was talking to Oscar.
I told him that we would be able to watch the meeting on the big screen.
That got him really excited. "Like watching TV?" he asked.
"Um, sort of," I answered.


Later that day Blake told me about what Oscar said to him during conference.

Oscar: Dad this channel is really boring. Do you think we can change it to like Nickleodeon? Or even golf?

School

Oscar: Mom this is what I don't like about school days.

Me: What?

Oscar: We have to go to school.

Christmas Morning

This year was the first Christmas that I wasn't the first one awake. I woke up at 5:00. Got out of bed at 5:30. All three kids were up watching 24hrs of A Christmas Story.

Me: How long have you guys been up?

Lilly: I don't know but I know I already watched this part of the movie.

At 6:00 they begged to wake up Dad. At about 6:10 I went in and warned him that I was going to let them wake him up at 6:30. They were so excited.

I got on the computer. At 6:27 I remember one of them saying, "3 more minutes!"

After a little time I look at the clock. It's 6:32. I turn to tell them that "it's go time" but what do I find?

All three kids asleep.

We opened presents at 8:00.

Larkin's Epiphany

"I wonder why they call it your birthday su... oooohhh."

Did you know?!

I was sitting at the computer the other day and I heard Oscar yell this while looking into the mirror.

"Hey, everybody on the whole planet! Mom is so nice."
