Injured by birth control? Get compensated for your injuries!

*snerk* The worst part is, based on the website given, they seem to be referring to a version of the pill. How do you injure yourself using the pill? "Ow! My eye!"

Posting icons to an icon community that link back to your friends-only journal/group, so anyone who wants to see them has to friend you/join your group? Tacky, people. Very tacky.

I saw a commercial today for that Krod Muldoon (or whatever) show that's going to be on Comedy Central, I think. The only reason I mention it is because the moment he opened his mouth, I realized that Mr. Krod himself is Kyle from The Class. While I'm always happy to hear that actors from beloved-yet-prematurely-canceled shows are finding work, this is my horrified face.

How You Know You're Old and Out of Touch with Today's Young People:

When the next song on the cd is Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger, and a kid instantly yells out, "I know this one! This is the song from that Hanes commercial where they're all dancing around!"

And in your office, you put your head down and silently weep for your lost youth and the Tom Cruise That Was.

ETA:

Monday morning: No hot water.
Tuesday morning: Puking dog.

I can't WAIT to wake up tomorrow! Luckily, I ran just enough wash and clean-out-the-pipes TONIGHT to discover that Dad forgot to flip the switch on the water heater when he left, rather than finding out at 6:15 tomorrow morning when I got in the shower. Oh yeah. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Had a rather rotten day (up until about 6 pm, at least) so I decided to cap it off by catching up with the last few eps of Big Bang Theory. I just got to Monday's, and all I can say is,

Holy crap, is that ANDERS?? Bwah!

Thanksgiving was good. Yummy food, time with family, decent weather, etc. Got back late Friday night, then had the playoff game Saturday. The crowd is traditionally way smaller on Thanksgiving weekend, but it's always an awesome crowd. Highlight of the game:

Background info: We scored, one of the defensive guys was Unhappy, so he bitch-slapped one of our players. (Dude, you're wearing helmets. Think about it.) 15-yard penalty, assessed on kickoff. We kick the extra point, our kicker gets mugged by a defensive guy. Another 15-yard penalty to be assessed on kickoff.

Ref: "This penalty will also be assessed on the kickoff. The ball will be kicked from the 7.5 yard li--correction. The ball will be kicked from the.... The penalty will be assessed.... This way." *gestures*
Crowd: *cracks up*

You could almost see the ref do a mental facepalm. Probably didn't help that all the other officials were laughing at him, too. And this, boys and girls, is another example of why your teachers always said you really WOULD use math when you grew up.

It's been snowing since late last evening, so it's really wet and slippery now that it's dropped below freezing. I'm really hoping for a 2-hour delay - I know it won't happen, but I can have hope, right? *g* It'd be a nice way to come back after the holiday. God knows the kids' brains will still be on vacation...

Happy Birthday, Imagespleeny! I missed it, but I'll spread a little late joy this way -

The Librarian 3: The Curse of the Judas Chalice airs on TNT Sunday, December 7, at 7 pm CST.

WHEEE! They do say "The final chapter begins" on one of the previews, but in one of the interviews Noah Wyle says it's always been their ambition to make as many of these as they can, so... *bounce*

Watched the premiere of Crusoe tonight. It wasn't bad. Pretty scenery, pretty people, relatively interesting plot, decent writing, some good lines. Relatively cheesy CGI at times, flashback style got a bit annoying, and somewhat predictable, but overall, it was pretty decent.

It helps that I like the gadgetry aspect and there were some very snerk-worthy lines. Plus, they gave enough of the background story to establish the basics, but created enough questions to pique my interest without making it feel like "oooh, lookit what we're not telling you so you'll stick around and be all shocked when we reveal it!" It didn't take itself too seriously, which is another plus. And I'm sure there are hundreds of Crusoe/Friday fics already flooding in.

I think it'll be one of those where I won't be upset if I miss it, but I'll make sure to grab a torrent and catch up at some point.

In other news, I'm *really* glad it's Friday. And I'm going to bed now.

Good Things (That Have Absolutely Nothing to Do With Martha Stewart):

- Gorgeous leaves. We didn't get much last year because it was so dry, iirc, but this year is amazing. I love driving down the streets lined with huge old trees that arch the whole way over the road.

- Cheap gas. It's averaging about $2.73 around town. Friday night we saw it for $2.35, but of course, had just filled up the day before. ETA: Paid $2.25 today! Down to $2.66 elsewhere, but *flail* $2.25!

- Knowing what I'm doing in my classes. Okay, so the actual testing itself stinks, but it's nice to no longer be in that limbo, wondering how long I had to stall before they'd get here.
