Our Sweet little Baby Boy,
Although month two started down, it ended up. You were able
to come off the ventilator just a 5 ½ days after being re-intubated. You were
so much stronger this time. A few days later, your occupational therapist
started working with you on bottle feeding; you were slow at first but you
could do it. You even occasional will breastfeed again for a few minutes much
to mommy’s delight. All your nurses love to come in a take turns holding you.
You are officially the miracle baby of the PICU. You also had brain surgery to
put in a reservoir. Hopefully it will help your brain catch back up with reabsorbing
your CSF. You are working on your physical therapy and can hold your head up like
a newborn again. You also gave us the best Christmas gift ever by coming home
that morning. We love having you home again and having our family be whole
again. You have also decided that you should never ever be put down if it’s
daytime and we’re obliging. Your big sister still loves to point out your eyes.
Can’t wait to show you how much fun life is little man. It’s so much better
than you realize.
Love,
Mom and Dad
