Read it on my blog (or don’t).

I’ve tried blogging twice before, both times with a somewhat narrow (ok, very narrow) focus. The first was when I travelled to Capetown to watch my nephew compete in the Junior World Cycling Championships and did a blog to keep everyone back home up-to-date with results. The second time, I decided that I should tell the world that I had discovered art in my life, and that everyone should know every minor detail of any creative project I happened to be working on at the time. Needless to say, neither of these blogs had an extended lifespan and both died a rather rapid, and thankfully relatively painless, death.

The old adage, ‘third time lucky’ comes to mind as I give blogging another crack, but this time round with a very different plan of attack. I am going to have a broad focus, a very broad focus. I am going to blog about what I am thinking about, what I am experiencing, what I am learning, what I am doing or not doing but feel I should be. I am going to share and share, and you can read about it if you fancy. Or not. It won’t concern me who reads, because this time ’round, the blog serves me. It is not designed to meet the needs of others, but rather as a creative outlet for me. It meets my needs. It serves me. A selfish approach perhaps, but one which I think will lead to a far greater longevity with this medium than my previous two attempts. So here goes. Read it. Or don’t.
