I've meant to attend a big(ger) Linux conference for some time now and when I read about the Diversity Scholarship by the Linux Foundation I thought "why not, give it a try". I was promptly accepted and tried to get funding/sponsorship for the other costs. With the company I'm working for not grasping that chance (*ahem*) I was lucky to find my LUG - the LuGA, where I'm member of the board, sponsoring the remaining costs for the trip. THANK YOU GUYS!!!
I arrived in Dublin on Sun night and started into the conference well-rested :-) I had a hard time picking talks as there were multiple parallel tracks and very interesting topics that were touched. What I ended up with is what I think a good mixture of deep-dive tech talks and meta-tech ones that dealt with (problems in) the Open Source community from different angles.
What was very nice and cool was that I got to meet some long-time "'net only" friends and people in person for the first time, most notably
