NIST International School is Thailand’s first not-for-profit school authorised to offer the full International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum. Since 1999, we have provided a leading international education in Bangkok for students aged 3–19.

Through the IB’s PYP, MYP, and DP, students develop strong conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and the confidence to apply learning in real-world contexts. This globally recognised framework prepares students for success at the world’s top universities while nurturing internationally minded, compassionate individuals ready to make a meaningful contribution to the world.

Students are capable learners with unique experiences and innate curiosity. The NIST Early Years Programme fosters learning through play and inquiry, promoting the development of intellect, identity, well-being, character and social connection. Our educators observe, listen, question and challenge children's thinking, creating a rich learning environment based on our school-wide mission, vision and values, and the beliefs of the IB PYP.

The holistic approach of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) empowers children from 3 to 11 years old. It fosters emotional, social, and academic development through concept-based inquiry, student-centered learning, and a supportive community, cultivating a love for learning and essential skills.

For students aged 11 to 16, the MYP builds on foundational skills from the PYP. It encompasses eight core subject areas, global themes, and a strong service component. Students connect their learning to real-world contexts and complete a personal project in the final year.

At NIST, students aged 16 to 19 complete their education through a rigorous Diploma Programme. Building on the MYP, this university-preparatory programme offers six subject areas, including a second language. Students can pursue individual courses or the full diploma. Key elements include an extended essay, theory of knowledge course, and CAS activities for real-world application.

NIST is part of a consortium offering the Global Citizen Diploma (GCD). This programme recognizes students' comprehensive education, including experiences in and outside the classroom. The GCD enhances self and global awareness, fostering connections and developing skills to make a positive impact globally. It emphasise metacognition, passion, and talent development.

NIST International School offers the globally-recognized Duke of Edinburgh's International Award to its students, promoting personal development and recognition for their efforts. This award fosters character building, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility. Students participate in the award programme, gaining valuable skills and contributing to the local community.
