Hi. Long time, no icon post. And new username too! I want to get back into icon making more seriously, and, to do that, I thought I'd clear out the few icons I made since my last post. The newest of these were made in December of 2017 and others were made throughout 2016 and 2017. The D.Va spray icons have more color variations that I didn't include. They can be found here.

This post is kind of a mixed bag? There are a few that I considered not including but I love me those even rows of five icons. The Outlander icons are my May set for 10in30. I rambled about the song inspiration for the set here if you're interested. The rest are randoms from a tmfaction activity and challenges at theiconthrone. I meant to post this at the end of last month but all my spare time was consumed by Overwatch.

You're the Worst, you guys. YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS SHOW. For me, it's easily among the top five best quality shows in production right now. It's funny but also deals with real emotions in an honest way. These icons ended up almost all Gretchen which is no surprise since I love her and relate to her struggles with clinical depression and her red hair is fun to work with. And then there's Lindsay! Kether Donohue is a comedic genius. I always find myself rewinding to hear her line delivery again and again. The friendship between Gretchen and Lindsay is my everything. I wanted to make one of Edgar because he's amazing and the least worst of all of the characters but I couldn't resist my infatuation with Gretchen.

This month's theme at 20muses was Keep It Simple which obviously I was thrilled to see! I love making minimalist icons where it's all about the crop, color, and light. It's my favorite type of icon to make and to use. I didn't intend to organize them by level of vibrancy but as I started to put the post together, I thought they looked better that way so I ended up going for that. Maybe it's because it fit my mindset as I had just completed the 10in30 challenge Vibrant + Muted which was also a lot of fun.

Idk, you guys. I had a rough day working on this set for 10in30. The theme was textures and I chose option three, a grab bag with 10 textures I was required to use at least once. Some of the textures I loved and found immediately inspiring. Others I ended up using in ways I wasn't anticipating. Others made me want to tear my hair out. Accordingly, the icons range from ones I love and hate. I also didn't end up iconning as many characters as I wanted to. :( Next time, I suppose! And then there's something wrong with my layer mask settings in Photoshop because it was doing unexplainable nonsense which was really frustrating and meant I had to extract the image from the background in one go instead of baby steps like I prefer. x____x

Sense8 01-15

I actually completed a set for a 20in20! It's been forever since I've done that. This is my set for 20muses. The theme this month is "IN COLOR" and if you haven't seen it already, check out the inspiration post because it is beautiful. I chose the easy mode and I'm glad I did because I struggled to get these done with what's going on in real life. I don't think I could have handled the extra stress of normal or hard mode! I ended up switching my claim from iZombie and The 100 to The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, which I didn't end up using.

Easy mode required that you make 5 icons using primary colors, 5 using secondary colors, 5 using tertiary colors, and 5 with neutral colors and that's the order these are displayed. It was a challenge for me working with specific colors, some of which don't fit the show as well as others. Also, the easiest way to do this challenge is to work with bright colors which is not my style or taste so that was interesting, sometimes frustrating, to work with too. (Like, I could do neutral toned icons for daaays!)

I wanted to post this earlier but it just didn't work out. I've been trying to be better at making icons this year and luckily started watching some things that are inspiring. Most of these icons are from activities at tasteislife and tmfaction and the Teen Wolf icons are from a battle at cardwars.
