Easter Week

Image
Easter egg hunt #1 at a friend's house on Monday - just starting to understand that there are PRIZES and CANDY inside :)

Image
Easter egg hunt #2 with play group on Friday -- I love this pic because he took every egg and "cracked" it on the sidewalk before opening them! Too funny!

Easter egg hunt #3 at a birthday party on Saturday -- Our friends shared their south Texas tradition of cascarones with us. You take the confetti filled egg and crack it over someone else's head. Too fun!!

Image
Easter Sunday -- We started the morning off with a bunny pancake breakfast. Cole was enjoying feeding me the whipped cream (don't mind a bit!)

Image
After the delicious breakfast, we read a children's version of the Easter story together.

Image
And then we headed down to Stanford to have some brunch with Uncle Cuz and Aunt Kristen. They got Cole an Easter basket filled with fun goodies... so thoughful!! :)

And then we ended the day with "make your own pizza" dinner with some of our dear friends. The rain and clouds had broken, and we got to enjoy each other's company outside in the sunshine while the boys played together.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Cupcake decorating

The other week, our play group went to a local cupcake shop to decorate our own cookies and cupcakes! The shop is so cute and has a room in the back with toys and a table just for little ones. Cole has a pretty bad sweet tooth (like his mama), so he had a blast!

At first, he was really interested in using the knife to spread the frosting...

Image
But that quickly lead to just eating the frosting straight out of the cup...

Image
So, I helped him a bit with the decorations and came out with a yummy cupcake!

ImageAnd then it was off to the park to burn off all that sugar!!!

This is what a good daddy looks like...

and all before going to work...

You are amazing, Jesse!

Japanese Tea Garden

Last weekend, we ventured to a Japanese Tea Garden. It is a serene place, with winding paths, schools of Koi fish, and miniature Pagodas nestled away in the trees. Not only was it a fun and relaxing family outing, but it was a perfect opportunity to continue to practice my photography - which somedays, can still be so frustrating for me. I know what I want the photo to look like, and I am SLOWLY learning how to adjust all the settings to get the desired result. The hardest thing is capturing a 3 year old that moves so fast! My favorite of the day is the one of Jesse and Cole on the bridge -- I just love it :) And I hope you do as well...

A Pickle for Breakfast?

**warning - this is not a terribly exciting video, but I love capturing even the everyday things to share with family :) Hope you enjoy!

The other morning at breakfast, Cole decided to steer away from his usual bowl of cereal or toast. He eventually ended up with apples, peanut butter and honey (a Cubbison staple), and grapes. Good breakfast, I thought! But of course, no meal is complete for my little man without a pickle...

Ode to Monster Trucks

As many of you know, Cole is quite the singer. Very often in the morning, I wake up to my toddler alarm clock, complete with a tender song :) Not only does Cole enjoy singing, but lately he has taken up putting new words to familiar tunes and creating a song of his own. Of course, his daddy is beside himself with the thoughts of having a budding song writer in the family! Now we just have to get Cole on an instrument and we could be the next Partridge family... haha!
One day, Cole had taken his favorite toy, a monster truck, into the bathroom and I could hear him creating a song all about how they like to jump and crash, etc. Of course, the minute he spied the video camera, the moment was lost, but I convinced him to recreate the moment for you all.
Hope you enjoy this Ode to Monster Trucks...
