This year, I need to be more focused. I need to concentrate on myself (ack, I hate even typing that...you'll see what I mean.) I need to stop wasting time on a bunch of little things, and tackle and complete a few big ones. We shall see.
I'm nervous because 32 is supposed to be my best year. (When I was 16, I decided that 32 would be my best year, and 26 would be my second best year. 26 was the best and the worst year of my life so far. That's the year I had the babies. ... Of course, when I was 16, I also decided I'd die in a car crash at 31. And, so far so good?)
ANYWAY
10) Quit smoking.
9) Finish Holy Seed
8) Write parenting book
7) Get 10 pieces published (not counting Huffington Post or Buzzfeed).
6) Do well in school
5) Live healthier (go to the gym more, and eat better. Stop drinking so much wine, stop eating anything after dinner).
4) Read 12 books. (try to read every gd day).
3) Go to bed by midnight every night, 11:30 p.m. on nights the babies have school.
2) Publish Just the Messenger (again), and write one more romance novel.
1) Improve my platforms.
**Extra** make $100 a week.
FOR KIDS:
5) Get them to be nice human beings 75 percent of the time (stuck at 40 percent)
4) Stop yelling at them. (OMG OMG PLEASE STOP YELLING AT THEM).
3) Read to them every day.
2) Have them do chores every day.
1) Get them to accept that they are different girls and can do different things.

I'm so tired, but we had a great Christmas.
I was up until 3 a.m. wrapping presents (Carlos is legitimately sick, so he tried to sleep), and then the girls crept quietly into our room at 7:30 a.m., all smiles and suppressed delight.
"Mommy," Dulce said quietly, "There are presents. There are... a lot of presents." It was super cute.
They were full of restraint, too. They snuggled with us in bed for a few moments, then allowed me to make them breakfast before they even tackled their stockings. They unwrapped slowly and savoured each gift, and throughout the day, they played meaningfully with as many as they could.
They threw all kinds of requests at me, but understood when I couldn't play because I was making the world's biggest dinner for four people ever seen.
I'm really proud of their behavior today.
And I got my wedding band, too.
Good day.
I could sleep for a week. But first I think I'll have a slice of pumpkin pie.

I've almost finished a memoir essay I'm submitting to a contest.
I watched It's a Wonderful Life.
I made 18 dozen cookies and the dough for six more.
I made 8 pounds of fudge.
I delivered the last three IRL packages all across town.
My daughter was the shining star.
I'm doing my "card wall" right now.
My 24-rule rebuttal made it to Huffington Post.
I accidentally got hired on for several hundred dollars worth of work for the Gainesville Sun.
Good day.
Tonight I will finish that memoir. I swear.
