Challenge #13
In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources you use or enjoy. (One or two is fine, especially if you're in a smaller fandom!) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.Alright so today I want to talk about a different fandom: the sims!
I'm waiting for Sims4 Paranormal Stuff (with BONEHILDA) being released. it's supposed to come out today but it's not out yet. :( Hence me writing about Sims today.
I have been playing the sims on and off since 2004. But playing it is only half the fun. the other half is seeing what other do with the game, challenges, mods etc. So here are some resources (sadly many of the links I collected over the years are defunct):
graphic rules maker this helps getting sims2 to run properly on newer computers.
stop purple soup a google doc trouble shooting if your sims2 game flashes purple
garden of shadows an old school forum where I used to get most of my cc from. still active.
mod the sims probably
the source on anything sims related. still active.
sims2defaults as the name implies, lots of default for sims2. defaults is now my favorite way of customizing.
and now, some youtube content:
plumbella is a great resource for anyhting sims. she not only has reviews for everything that comes out (other yt'ers do that also) she has videos on every single sims release ever from sims 1 to 4 and medieval and the console games. she is also a self proclaimed ho for lore and does a "the entire history of" series.
lilsimsie is amazing for house builds. but has also stuff like that:
this is the first time I see a sims4 video catching the chaotic energy of sims2.
juno birch is not only the loveliest alien drag queen on earth, she also captures the experience of sims2 so well.
