Are you all ok?
I know that most if not all but 1 of you live outside of Florida which means below degree temperatures.... um... What does that FEEl like? I think the coldest I've felt was maybe the 30's...
Everytime I go outside and it's about in the 60's i first think Geez it's cold! then I think of you all in the single digit degree weather...
here, Rona posted this link on facebook. Maybe you all can see it, but it was shocking to me!

Well,
not much to say - I have a ton of time off at the moment. In the last 3 weeks I've worked 2 days. Noooooot good. I would get some kind of part time job but next week I should be working 2 days (hoping that the patients don't RESCHEULE! Geez) and then in Feb I'll be getting 3 days a week (which is plenty to pay the bills) So for now I'm just kinda in limbo- very annoying! Yesterday I cleaned the house - not just the removing clutter, but bleach, vacuum, scrub sort of clean. I think I might have to get some kind of bug bomb. These annoying little gnats have invaded my home and no matter what I do I can't get rid of them! I'm a clean person!! I wonder if they're coming in through a vent or a crack in the door. And my friend had her baby, as you can see in the pic! She's totally a mom now, and she really didn't have that instinct a day before the birth. How do I know she has this now? Every newborn, no matter what, looks like a little alien. They do. They're all wrinkly and big headed with little slits for eyes - I adore babies, but they really do look like little aliens. This Friend even agreed wholeheartedly with this. Not now. Her baby is the cutest baby in all the world! Nothing can compare to his cuteness. Don't get me wrong, he is cute! but he looks like every other newborn... a little alien! So her mothering instincts have kicked in. Good. In other news, I have Skype! Oh how fun! Did I mention it before? Oh yes I did.. oh well, I'll mention is again. :) It's great cause I was able to help my dad with his account just by seeing what he was doing on the computer - I had him face the webcam to the screen. So much easier than trying to tell him. :)
Yet to have Christmas... technically.
Flew to Tennessee for Christs-Birth and did a greedy Santa game with the family. I won 2x!! I got my greedy Santa gift (one that i bought intending to keep for myself) but my dad got 2 web cams so of course I got one so he can see me anytime :) I'll be getting my "asked for" gift from my parents tomorrow night... I downloaded skype today: nuclearangel80 So now I just need to get the mic so i can actually talk instead of just typing to people. On the 26th my parents and I drove back (but not after taking a side trip to Pretty Place Chapel in S.Carolina- pics will be up soon). Made it to their house in Central Florida and then drove to my apt today. My BFF had her baby Christmas Day, but since I got a freakin cold from my family I couldn't go see the little immune deficient child today... that's all I want to do!! Snuggle a wittle itty bitty baby! I will tomorrow... with a mask on :) This pic was when I flew out of Ft Lauderdale. We turned around over the ocean and this was outside of my window! :)
I don't think I can fully understand the -2 degrees you all are talking about...
The coldest it's been so far has been 52... at night. I think my entire body would just ache from the coldness and my nose would be perpetually runny! I'm sniffly now and it's in the 60's!! And I see that Spiderman could come to Broadway... I want Jim... ahem.. I mean I want to see Jim... Sturgess... i hear he's in the running to be Peter. OH! The weirdest thing happened the other day. I get home around 1, get a really great spot right in front of my door and collapse for the rest of the night on my couch. I get up for work the next morning, go out and my car is not where I parked it. I freaked for a second then thought "Oh, I must have parked it on the other side" - I click the little horn thing and see that my car is parked across the lot near the compactor. You only park there when there are no more good spots - when you get in at like 10/11 at night. Plus, my car was backed in. I never back in over there. I open my door and the sunpass is sitting on my seat, it's always on the dash. My dashboard is cracked, with a chunk missing... plus, since I was keeping track of how many miles I could drive on a tank of gas I knew the night before I was around 178 or so. The mileage said 192. WTC?? Someone joyrided... joyrode... took my car around town??!!?! Thing is, my ipod was sitting right there, hooked up to the radio and it was still there. The thieves didn't take a thing. Not even the sunpass or the $119 projector in my trunk. It's like they wanted to drive around for a bit. lol - maybe they felt guilty cause i had the Christian radio station playing... well, guilty enough to at least bring the car back! I don't understand how they got it to start. My dashboard is cracked but I don't see how they could have gotten under it to hotwire. Plus no wires are pulled out, no scratches on the door.. Now I'm freaked out when I go out to my car, wondering if it's there or not.
Note to self:
Do not marry anyone who is in ministry (church business)... I want to be the missionary!! He can stay away and make money some other way :) Side note... Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Seriously. Amazing Show. This was my third time this year and I think it was even more amazing. Granted, there were times my retinas were burning even with my eyes closed... but who cares?!!?!!? The fire, lasers, smoke, lights... everything was just phenomenal!
Sometimes I think it's good that I don't have a full time job...
Baby shower this weekend and I haven't gotten any games yet. And it's not a normal baby shower - she doesn't like the normal shower games so we have to be creative. Really, would you like to try and guess the melted candy bar in the diaper or blow on an ice cube to set a mini-plastic-baby free? I wouldn't either... That's my favorite shot of Peanut Island... I love the orange at the bottom and the blue and white at the top. Plus the cranes... I love industrial looking things in my nature photos. It's like Man and Nature COLLIDE!! :D OH! Going to Trans-Siberian tonight! YAY for Awesome concert where we can dress up pretty :) - I wonder if I can take pictures there...
Aw freakin sweet!!
... Now I wonder if I can post multiple pictures onto one blog... Oh, and this is another of my "oh that's super cool!" pictures from this weekend. I can think of 4 that are my favs... i have yet to really put them in favorite order.
We went to Peanut Island over the weekend, so as I share photos I'll just have my random talky talk...
Did you know you can make your flickr account and LJ account merge?? How cool is that!! - I just found this out like 2 seconds ago, hence the "blog from Flickr" option I'm doing now... lets see how it works out! :) Oh the joys of Campus Life Happy Birthday |
