The 2025 Open House New York Weekend brought together more than 50,000 visitors to more than 320 places across the five boroughs, from transit infrastructure and historic landmarks to artist studios and industrial waterways. It was a weekend of discovery, connection, and celebration of the many layers that make this city so endlessly fascinating.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this citywide festival possible: to the 310 partners who opened their doors and shared their expertise, the 1,100 volunteers who generously donated their time, our funders and members who sustain our work, and the curious New Yorkers—like you—who believe in the power of an open city. We couldn’t do it without you.

About OHNY Weekend
Open House New York Weekend is an annual festival that unlocks 300+ destinations across all five boroughs for behind-the-scenes tours and special activities.

Special Series
Eight curated series with multiple sites that opened up around a common theme or neighborhood were presented during the 2025 edition:
- Affordable Housing: From public housing preservation to adaptive reuse, explore how city agencies, community organizations, designers, and developers are working to create housing that the city needs.
- Alphabet City: Explore New York City’s rich visual culture of signage and typography.
- Bloomberg Connects: Spotlighting additional expert-curated content, including video and audio guides available on Bloomberg Connects, the free app that connects people to arts and culture at any time, from anywhere.
- Building with Steel: Visit award-winning projects and hear from steel experts about new and innovative uses for structural steel, guest curated by the American Institute of Steel Construction.
- Innovation in Preservation: Uncover the techniques, tools, and materials helping practitioners breathe new life into historic architecture, landscape design, and decorative and fine arts, produced in partnership with the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation.
- Family Friendly: Bring the kids! More than a dozen OHNY Weekend partners are offering special activities for families. Most activities are free and open to the public.
- Sunset Park: Explore Sunset Park during OHNY Weekend, where historic industrial hubs along the Brooklyn waterfront now thrive with makers, artists, manufacturers, and innovators keeping New York’s “maker” spirit alive.
- Water Works: Discover how water shapes the city, from the system of pipes that delivers 1 billion gallons of clean water into (and out of) homes daily, to the working waterfront that drove the city’s economy for centuries, to the challenges of adapting 520 miles of shoreline for a wetter future.

On Thursday, October 16, nearly 500 guests gathered at the iconic Woolworth Building to kick off the OHNY Weekend festival.
