SOLID as a ROCK!

Image
At the bus stop a few weeks ago, Trace found out what it feels like to come in contact with a Rock or a Boulder....depends on who's telling the story.
A friend of his threw a BIG rock up in the air and it came down on Trace's head.  It was just an accident, so we know he's not being beat up at the bus stop!....for now, anyhow!
Around 7:55 a.m. Ty Shypkowski almost knocked my door down in his frantic state!  He was yelling, Trace is bleeding everywhere...someone threw a huge rock at him and there's blood EVERYWHERE!!
Luckily, my mom was here so I had actually gotten dressed and was able to open the door!
(most day's it's G's and a t-shirt, so Ty would have been waiting at the door until I was decent!)
I grabbed a towel and jumped in the car and got to the bus stop to find Trace on the ground with a sweet lady applying pressure to his head with a rag.  Trace's face was COVERED in blood.  I normally do just fine at the sight of blood, but this time around (maybe because it was my own child and there was a LOT of it) I got a little queasy.  The lady removed her rag to show me the damage and blood instantly was squirting out.  I covered his head with my towel....(Lucky enough I picked up a pink one from the garage that we dry the cars off with....perfect for blood stains!)
I picked him up and kept him on my lap as I drove back home.  I questioned driving right to the insta-care, but then thought, he's laying on my lap...What if I get pulled over?  Plus, I needed to inspect the damage and get him cleaned off a little.

We got home and I laid him on the kitchen floor and got him washed off.  I wish I would have taken a picture of the blood bath (his face was covered)....But, at the time you aren't thinking PICTURES....I was too worried about stitches and finding the wound.

Image
Sure enough, there was no need for stitches....he had been scalped, so there wasn't a way to sew him back together.  Those darn head wounds bleed a TON! It continued to bleed off and on a little for a few days until it scabbed over.
He only complained of a slight headache and was better in no time!
Today, he has a SERIOUS bald spot!
I need to take a picture!
I guess we can blame Trace's stupidity as he gets older on his Fractured skull at 8 months and being hit by a boulder at age 6.
