Welcome to the Community of Our Lady of Sorrows. Guided by the conviction that the church is the people of God, parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows were asked what makes their parish special.
The responses were woven into the following statement: Our Lady of Sorrows is not just a congregation. It is a family. It is real people who care for one another beyond the time of Sunday Mass. The diversity of the congregation is special, comprising diverse colours, sizes, and shapes that fit together.
All are welcome, all are part of the family. Our Lady of Sorrows is a very accepting and non-judgmental church where all contribute according to their gifts. All accomplishments are recognized. All efforts are encouraged to serve the needs of the neediest.
The parish mission statement is taken from Psalm 87: "The Lord loves His city...and so do we."
