The Hip Center

The Fellowship Trained and Board-certified Hip specialists at Olympia Orthopaedic Associates use their training, knowledge, and skills to accurately diagnose and effectively treat all hip injuries and conditions.

Olympia’s Top Hip Specialists

Hip pain can be caused by injuries or conditions that damage the hip bones, muscles, tendons, or cartilage. While it is true that older patients commonly sustain hip fractures and arthritis, patients of all ages can experience hip pain. It is important for patients to know that hip pain may first present as pain in the groin, inner knee, thigh, buttock, or lower back. Because hip injuries and conditions can be challenging to identify and diagnose, a specialized treatment approach is necessary.

The most common are the following:

  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Cartilage damage
  • Deformities
  • Dislocations
  • Femoral acetabular impingement (FAI)
  • Fractures
  • Labral Tears
  • Osteoporosis
  • Sprains
  • Tendonitis

Nonsurgical and minimally invasive treatment options (i.e. injections) are used to treat the majority of hip injuries and conditions.

Arthroscopic and traditional surgical procedures are sometimes recommended if nonsurgical treatments have not provided pain relief.

For those with osteoarthritis of the hip that has become persistently painful and not responded to conservative treatments, our Fellowship Trained and Board-certified Hip Specialists are experts in Total Hip Replacement Procedures. In fact, many of these procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis.
