CommunityHealth at Onward House


Onward House hosts a CommunityHealth satellite clinic to connect uninsured individuals to free, comprehensive health care.

CommunityHealth is one of the largest volunteer-based health centers in the nation. CommunityHealth provides primary and specialty care, medications, lab testing, mental health services, and health education at no charge to low-income, uninsured and underinsured adults in Chicago.

Early Childhood Education


Families with young children often have limited affordable education and care options. Onward Neighborhood House’s Early Childhood Education Program is designed to meet the needs of children and parents seeking to better their lives. The year-round, full-day preschool services allow parents to work full time, pursue their education, and support their families without having to worry about their child’s safety and educational development.

Illinois Welcoming Center for Immigrants and Refugees


We provide resources and referrals to free services for immigrants,
refugees, and new arrivals.

The Welcoming Center can provide you with information and connect you to
services such as:

  • Basic Community Services
  • Education
  • Immigration and Legal Matters
  • Medicaid Application (Medical Card)
  • The Chicago CityKey ID application
  • Health
  • Food Assistance
  • Counseling
  • And more…
