So finally I'm getting off my ass and trying to get something done. I just registered to take the SAT in October so that I can start going to college soon. I really want to stop working on elevators and go to computers where I belong!

So I can't seem to get it working :( I'm going to be using a Palm IIIe as a backup, but it only has 4MB or RAM, as opposed to the Visor's 8. I guess I'll be able to program on it still, but now I won't be able to fit the programming docs on it. I'd rather not print out over 300 pages of docs...again. :P I wish I had a PocketPC, or a Yopy YP 3700 linux based PDA. But I can't see that happening anytime soon. Oh fugger!

So it seems my Handspring Visor is broken...It won't respond to the stylus anymore. This really sucks, I used that thing a lot. And I just started reading Palm OS Programming docs. I guess I won't be programming for it for 15 years, when I'll finally be able to afford a new one. :( Well I'm gonna see if I can fix it myself, otherwise it's going stay dead because I won't be able to afford to repair it. Damn it.

Well I just found a lovely new thing - PocketLJ. It's a LiveJournal client for Palm OS based PDAs. Now I can write a post on my Handspring Visor, as I am now, and then upload them when I get home. Hopefully that means more posts, but I think a lot of them may turn out to be rants. Anyway, I hope it works out for me!

Try as I might, I can't get XFree86 working properly under Redhat Linux 9. I finally got it started up, but now it hangs after a couple of minutes. And I only had to edit 40,000 text files to get it to that point.

Lord of the Chrono Trigger

It's weird, I was reading the Lord of the Rings and starting where Frodo and friends are leaving Hobbiton I began listening to the Chrono Trigger soundtrack. Somehow, for three quarters of the CD, the tone of the music matched what was happening in the book perfectly. It was kind of weird. For those who don't know, Chrono Trigger is an RPG for the SNES that has wonderful music. You can grab it in SNES sound format (SPC) from here, and although not perfect, you may use the SPC plugin for WinAmp from here. Have a listen!
