Thank you! I’m delighted that you are writing a fic for me. I love all three of the fandoms I’m requesting so I’m going to be happy with your story. I’m very easy to please, so don’t be nervous.

I am including a number of prompts, but if you have an idea, go for it! I would enjoy reading anything new for these fandoms. I like gen as well as pairings/ships. I enjoy m/f, m/m, and f/f. While I’ve leaned toward horror in two of my fandoms, I’ll be happy with lighter stories, or a humorous take.

Unusual Formats: I love anything unusual – epistolary, diary/journal, 5 things, outsider POV, choose your own adventure, unreliable narrator, Canadian shack, lists, or anything else that occurs to you. I’m all in!

Your Expertise: If you have a skill or hobby, feel free to include it in your story.

Little Red Riding Hood:
Requesting Little Red and The Big Bad Wolf

I’m interested in the earlier versions of the story. These versions are darker and gorier – Granny definitely dies, no Woodcutter saves her by cutting her out of the Big Bad Wolf’s stomach. There’s cannibalism in some versions – the Wolf tricks Red into eating a piece of her grandmother. In other words, bring on the HORROR!

If you want to write your version of the traditional story I’d be happy with that. What I’d love to see is Red rescuing herself! I want Red tricking the Wolf, or persuading him to let her go. It would be cool if she somehow saves her grandmother, but not necessary. I want a Red who is frightened but keeps her head, and figures a way out.

But if you want to turn the story on its head, I’m down for that too!

Change the setting – In SPAAAACE where Red has to fly a spaceship to a distant outpost to bring supplies to her grandmother. Make the Wolf an alien! Possibly even a tentacle alien! (Porn would be great for this, dubcon is fine for this fandom. Red must submit to save granny, maybe. No violent rape, please.) An Asian country, any time period. Regency or Victorian period. Whatever inspires you.

A seduction – The Wolf (in human form) might not be after Red’s tender flesh to literally eat. What if he or she (and I’d be happy with f/f for this prompt) was after Red as a mate? Or at least a delightful fling. Slow burn seduction, or a sweet flirtation. Some things I like: innuendo and double entendres, flirting, blushing, being held down, hands gripping the wrists, nipping/biting, manhandling – especially if it’s a woman doing it.

The aftermath – What happens to Red after her escape? What if, after being tricked into eating a piece of her grandmother, Red starts craving human flesh? Does she control her cravings, or give in? If she does, who is her first victim? She’s a clever girl, so does she get away with it?

Baba Yaga:
Requesting Baba Yaga, Baba Yaga’s House, Baba Yaga’s Cat

Baba Yaga has always fascinated me, and I want to know more. In some stories she’s cruel and in others she’s helpful, but she always seems to have a hidden agenda.

I’m especially interested in her relationship with her servants, and she has a lot of them. The stories include horse riders, a maidservant, a fiery skull, a black cat, and others.

It’s okay if you only want to include the house or the cat, and not both.

What I want to know is how Baba Yaga got her house! Did she create the house? How? Did she steal it from another witch? Did she use magic to acquire the house? Maybe she found an egg and hatched it! A miniature house with chicken legs would be amazing!

The same for the cat, where did he or she come from? Is the cat Baba Yaga’s familiar? If so, then what magic ritual did Baba Yaga use to get the cat? Or did the cat choose Baba Yaga. A story from the cat’s POV would be excellent.

Bad Baba Yaga - I would really love to have witchcraft for this fandom. Baba Yaga casting spells with the help of her cat. A story about someone stumbling upon her house, and being helped/harmed by Baba Yaga would be great. Maybe the person isn’t polite enough, and ends up being fed to the cat and/or house. The house has to eat, right? Bring the HORROR!

Younger Baba Yaga – How did she acquire her powers? Did she have a teacher? Did the teacher send her on perilous quests? Maybe the teacher was a good witch, but Baba Yaga wanted more, and turned to a darker path. (If you want to go in the direction of f/f, I’m down for that. I’m also down for a twisted or manipulative relationship in either direction.)

Was Baba Yaga self-taught? Maybe she found a book or artifact that started her on her path.
An origin story would be fantastic.

Modern Day Baba Yaga – Put Baba Yaga in a small town. What is she up to? Does she run a magical boutique in the front of a store, and does wicked magic in the back? Does she live alone in a forest preserve, and gets angry at people for littering, or cutting down trees? An Eco-thriller!

Does she travel around the world? Where does she go, and what kind of shenanigans does she get up to. By shenanigans, I don’t necessarily mean light-hearted pranks. I figure the older she gets, the crankier she gets, and she was pretty dang cranky to begin with. If she cracks a few skulls with her pestle, I’d be thrilled.

Telegram Blog:
Astronaut Woman, Astronaut Cat

In the blog, the woman has an active life, and does quite a lot of things. The picture I’m most interest in is the one where she’s an astronaut! She’s sitting in the pilot’s chair, high above a blue planet, talking to several different people, most of them aliens. She’s eating popcorn, and her cat is drowsing on the console. Outside the window is a space station.

The artwork is so detailed, and so… happy? So I’d really like a story with a happy ending here. A generally happy story. That doesn’t mean I don’t want any conflict. Conflict is great!

The woman is smart, competent, confident, friendly, and enthusiastic.

I’d love to see the woman (feel free to come up with a name for her and the cat) face down hostile aliens, even if it’s only on screen – it doesn’t have to be face to face. Maybe she’s a brilliant pilot and gets her ship out of danger through her skills.

Woman and aliens - If you want to create an alien or aliens for her to contend with, I’d love it. A cultural misunderstanding would be fun. Maybe the cat is mistaken for food! Or vermin that needs to be destroyed. How does the woman resolve the conflict? How does she save her cat?

Woman and love – In the picture, the woman seems to have a lot of alien friends. Is there some particular alien that she’s interested in? Is there pining? Pining would be great. A romantic story would be cute, if you don’t want to write porn. If you do, then porn it up! Explore some alien biology! A little awkwardness would be cute, before they figure things out. This is a light, fun canon, so happy consent please.

Woman and the cat – A slice of life story where the woman goes about her daily routine would be nice. Is her cat ordinary, or is it an AI and can talk to her? What are the woman’s daily duties? Does she take care of a garden? Put on a spacesuit to go out and clean the solar panels? Visit the space station? Watches some kind of entertainment with her friends on a video call? All the while, the cat follows her around – or if intelligent, helps.

Thank you for writing a story for me! I love all of the fandoms I chose, so no matter what we matched on, I will be happy with a story written by you. I’m not kidding when I say I’m very easy to please. I’d be happy with anything for one of my fandoms, so go crazy if you want to. Just in case, I’ve also added a few ideas, and lists of likes and dislikes.

Likes: first kisses, holding hands, animals – particularly cats, also dogs, a sense of place, some problems needing to be faced before a happy ending, bittersweet endings are good too, competence, exploring new places, making friends or allies, road trips, chocolate.

Dislikes: rocks fall everyone dies, death of requested characters, child abuse – mentioning past abuse is fine but no graphic details, no animal abuse or neglect, no torture, no brain injury or damage of any kind even temporary, no amnesia even temporary, no humiliation.

Unusual Formats: I love anything unusual – epistolary, 5 things, outsider POV, choose your own adventure, unreliable narrator, Canadian shack, lists, or anything else that occurs to you. I’m all in!

Jackalope Wives – Grandma Harken, Cholla-bone girl:

I want to know about these two. At the end of The Tomato Thief, Grandma Harken had taken on the job of teaching the cholla-bone girl. I don’t see Grandma Harken sitting the girl at a desk and using a chalkboard, she’s a more hands-on kind of teacher. So what does she do? I can see them spending time with their hands in the dirt in the garden, planting seeds and pulling weeds. Or maybe Grandma Harken takes the girl into the desert and shows her different animal prints, and how to track. Maybe they run into someone interesting, like Father of Rabbits, or Coyote.

You can also bring in other characters from the series, or make up your own. Basing a story on a legend you know, or a fairy tale also works. A quiet moment shared between the two would be lovely, or a grand adventure if you’d enjoy writing one.

Hilda the Plus Size Pinup – Hilda:

(NOTE: the sign up form made me choose two characters, so I chose the cat. It's okay if you don't include the cat! LOL)

If there’s a picture of Hilda that has inspired you, then yes! please do write a story based on it! I’d love it! The pictures are so charming, and Hilda is always having fun. Or getting into mischief! Please include Hilda’s pets, or other animals if you want. I also don’t mind original characters.

If you want some other idea, how about a winter scene? Hilda is a pin-up girl, so almost all of her pictures are spring through autumn. Hilda skiing, ice skating, making a snowman, or even ice fishing would be wonderful! And after the fun, if Hilda throws off her clothes to warm herself before the fire with a cup of hot cocoa, well that’s just Hilda!

If you’d like to include a special someone who admires Hilda’s spirit (and her curves) then yes! A little romance for Hilda would be adorable. They can be male or female, I don’t have a prefernce.

BIG NOPE: please no fat shaming. No food issues. Hilda is perfectly content with herself, and has a good body image, so don’t embarrass or humiliate her because of her weight.

Sapphire & Steel – Sapphire, Steel:

Anything as mysterious, and spooky as the show itself. Sapphire and Steel work well together, even when Steel is being prickly, or less than diplomatic. I love their relationship, and I have the feeling it’s more than a working one. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to write them as romantic partners. I’m fine with the two of them having a problem to solve.

If you already have an idea for Sapphire & Steel, then please go for it! I’d love to see what you come up with.

If you want some ideas, then something along the lines of an episode would be fantastic, but a scene where they stop to catch up with each other after a long parting, maybe even exchanging the Elemental version of gossip would also work for me.

You can set a story anywhere, and at any point in history. Choose a famous crime from history, and have Sapphire and Steel there solving a problem (anything but Jack the Ripper). Put them in Nero’s Rome, or Jean Lafitte’s pirate ship. Put them on a train in the Old West, maybe during a robbery! Or have them riding horses into a literal ghost town. If that doesn’t appeal, then take them into SPAAAACE! How about an abandoned space station? Or is it?

If you want to write something more shippy, go for it. I’m fine with gen as well as shipping them. While I would like a bit of friction between them (hah!), I don’t want them to dislike each other, or have one pining over the other. I prefer mutual attraction.

I’m so excited about Yuletide! And before I jump in with my fandoms, I want to thank you for writing a story for me. No matter which fandom we match on, I’ll be happy with your story! I love all of these fandoms, and the characters, so have fun writing.

I also want you to know that the prompts I’ve listed are only ideas. You don’t have to use any of them. Seriously, if you have an idea of your own, go for it! I’ll be thrilled to see what you come up with!

Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion… Sandia Labs
Characters: Color Changing Cat

The reason I’m requesting Color Changing Cat is because I would really like a specific cat. I’d love a cat that has a name or at least an identity, even if you don’t name it. You are welcome to include any or all of the other nominated characters, or come up with your own OCs as long as the cat has a central role in the story.

1) Who is the very first Color Changing Cat?

2) The leader of a cat colony knows her job: keep people out!

3) In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a person or a couple depend on their cat for survival.

4) A cat searches for a safe place to have her kittens. She finds a small den with plenty of creatures around to eat. But something strange keeps happening to her fur…

5) Linda and Jo are transferred to a new settlement. They’re not exactly happy about it because there’ve been vague rumors of a sickness. They bring their cat, who starts acting very oddly. And his/her color changes when he visits certain areas. They have no idea what’s going on, but they mean to find out!

6) Random Ideas: Color Changing Cat IN SPAAAACE, with wings (hey, they do live near a nuclear waste disposal site), saves the day, matchmaker, is a member of an intelligent race of cat archaeologists, does not make a good pet, gets filmed by wildlife experts for a nature show.

Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated
Characters: Velma and Marcie

I loved the original Scooby Doo when I was a kid. It was a fun show, with characters that I liked, and interesting investigations. What I like about this version is that it goes deeper into the characters, giving them emotional arcs, elaborates on their backgrounds and personalities, and expands their relationships between each other as well as to many supporting characters.

I chose Velma and Marcie because THEY’RE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!! Two smart girls doing science together! I loved how their relationship started out as enemies, then unwilling partners, then friends with a good partnership, then… the last episode gave a hint that there might have been something more.

1) If you want to write a Gen story, then I’d love to see Velma and Marcie working together on a case. Maybe they have to pull a heist to retrieve some kind of information or artifact. Or maybe an investigation into some supernatural phenomena that is solved with science! A future fic with Velma and Marcie running their own detective agency would be awesome!

2) For more Gen, Velma and Marcie working on a science fair project. Do they win?

3) If you are into Velma/Marcie, then holding hands, a first kiss, a first date, is fine by me.

4) I’d love a story where Marcie is distracted by Velma’s neck. Why does Velma always wear turtleneck sweaters? What is she hiding? Marcie can hardly think straight for imagining what’s under that sweater. It would be fun if Marcie comes up with a scheme to get Velma’s neck NAKED!

5) I can’t think of a fandom better tailored for TENTACLE PORN!!! I know! I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of this the last time I asked for this fandom! I can imagine Velma and Marcie running into some tentacle creature during an investigation. OR maybe they find a spell book, and are flipping through the pages, making fun of people who believe in such superstitious nonsense. They read some bits out loud and suddenly TENTACLES!

I’m not looking for anything too dark and awful. The show is a mixture of seriousness and goofiness, so something along the same lines. My only other request is that it’s the two of them together, and not just one or the other getting TENTACLED.

ETA: Also, any kind of tentacle monster is fine. A slimy octopoid creature or an ethereal ghost, or a robot! Whatever you prefer, go for it!

Baian the Assassin:
Characters: Baian

I own the boxed set, and my husband and I have rewatched this show several times. I have no idea why it never occurred to me to request Baian the Assassin until this year. I wish there were more episodes!

I like all of the characters, so please feel free to include any or all of them if you want, as long as Baian is front and center.

1) Baian finds himself in an unexpected altercation but must maintain his cover as a doctor. How does he keep from being hurt without revealing he knows more about fighting than a doctor should?

2) On a cold winter’s night, Baian and Hikojiro share a meal, and entertain each other by telling stories. What kind of stories do they tell? Scary stories? Stories about their pasts? Some kind of tall tale?

3) Baian is asked to assassinate a man who has a reputation for being wise and good. He’s reluctant to take the job without investigating first.

4) It’s not explicit in the show, but Baian seems to have a relationship with O-Mon’s children. Baian spending some leisure time with O-Mon and her children would be lovely!

5) There was an episode featuring Baian’s long, lost sister. What if someone else from Baian’s past shows up?


DNW: amnesia, permanent brain damage, eyeball injury, character bashing, death, no current political commentary.

Things I Like: adventure, hand holding, fairy tales, epistolary fiction, unusual formats, animals, Halloween, vignettes, domestic moments, humor, friendship, sarcasm, all kinds of styles from spare and bare bones to lush and vivid, cats, hands, spooky stories, pie.

I’m so excited! I can’t tell you how happy I am that you offered to write one of my fandoms! Thank you! Thank you for writing a story for me!

First, let me assure you that no matter which fandom we matched on, I will be thrilled! I love each one of these fandoms, and even if I have more to say about one, or have more prompts for another, that doesn’t mean I love any of them more or less than the others.

Three out of four of my fandoms are horror. I am comfortable with that level of gore and violence. Ordinarily, my Do Not Wants include things that are a major part of these fandoms. But you know what? I’m open to just about anything this year. Go for the gold -- or in this case guts! My only hard core Do Not Wants this year are rape, permanent brain damage, and bestiality. I don’t include intelligent werewolves having sex under bestiality, so if you want to include that somewhere in the Ginger Snaps Trilogy, have at it!

Ginger Snaps Movie Trilogy

Brigitte Fitzgerald:

I love Brigitte, her inner strength, stubbornness, her love for Ginger - a love so strong, she chose to kill her rather than see her become a bloodthirsty monster. Even though she couldn’t save Ginger, she tried so hard to save herself. She would have preferred death to her fate in the sequel.

The ending to the sequel, Brigitte trapped in the basement, was shocking and in some ways satisfying on a horror level. It was completely unexpected. But in some ways it was very unsatisfying. Brigitte deserved a better fate. After all her struggles, the tragedies she suffered, that was the worst possible ending for her.

I would love a story where Brigitte manages to tame the wolf, and escapes from the basement. Feel free to include Ginger in whatever capacity you feel like. I’m curious if Brigitte would seek revenge on Ghost, or just relish her freedom. Any story that takes place after the second movie would be awesome.

The third movie is a prequel and takes place in another time period. I would be happy with a story taking place in a different place and time! Regency England? Spain during the Inquisition? Prisoners being sent to Australia? I’m open to anything!

I love fairy tales, and using the style and themes of fairy tales would work well for the Ginger Snaps Trilogy.

Also... Ginger Snaps in SPAAAAACE!!! No, I’m serious! I can’t imagine anyone not loving werewolves in space! How fun would that be?

Back story for Brigitte, her search for a cure, for answers -- where did she go? What kind of people did she meet?

I love Ginger too, so please feel free to include her if you want to.

Play Dead (Short Film)

Haley:

WARNING - if we did not match on this fandom, the film is about a zombie apocalypse from the viewpoint of a group of dogs. It’s pretty gory, but also humorous.

Sometimes, the universe just gives you a little gift. ZOMBIES and DOGS! And there’s even a couple of cats thrown in. What more could I possibly ask for? More, of course. More zombies and more dogs!

Haley doesn’t show up until the last few minutes of the movie. Other than her little bio, she didn’t get an “introduction” like the other dogs. I’d love to have the back story for Haley! How did her owner die? How long was she on her own before finding the dog pack? What kind of problems did she have to overcome?

If you don’t want to write her back story, then what about the future? What place does she have in the pack? What is her relationship to RoboCop? She looks pretty tough - does she help the pack in some way? Does she become an enforcer? A hunter?

I also have a couple of more general prompt ideas. At the end of the movie, the dog pack goes to the Dog Bar, but it’s full of cats! Do the dogs and cats fight over the Dog Bar? Do they try to live together? Do they search for another safe haven?

Future fic for the dog pack would be great too. How do these domestic animals survive without humans? Zombies didn’t seem to be too interested in attacking animals, but as the movie showed, zombies weren't the worst thing to happen to dogs.

Do the dogs ever find humans they can trust? Bring in any humans you like, but please keep the focus of your story on the dogs.

Z Nation

Doc (Z Nation) 10K (Z Nation):

I love their weird friendship! 10K hardly talks, and Doc can talk about anything. He seems to have a quip for every strange thing they encounter. They’re constantly saving each others lives, and have a great deal of respect for each other. Every time they’re separated, they do everything they can to find each other again.

I’d love a story where these two bond. Maybe sitting around a fire, maybe while on a mission, or following a plan. Maybe Doc tries to explain something about the past, and 10K doesn’t really get it. Or maybe they talk about something that happened before they met.

Any story where they become separated, and have to search for each other would also be awesome! Doc just seems so lost when 10K isn’t around.

What would also be really cool is if the rest of the group gets sick or injured, and it’s up to Doc and 10K to protect them until they get better. The two of them fighting off zombies, and maybe even humans to protect the others would be great!

Oh! And this show is always coming up with weird, new zombie creatures. Feel free to make up a new zombie for the group to encounter. And please do include any of the other characters if you feel like it. I love all of them, even though I kind of want to kick Murphy in the butt right now.

You can read the actual document but it took me two weeks, and I’m a fast reader. It really is interesting, though!

If I hadn’t looked at the documents myself, I never would have imagined this was real. But it is! Color changing cats! Someone actually thought of that as a solution to the problem of warning for the presence of radiation!

The whole idea of creating a monumental marker system that could last for 10,000 years just blows my mind. A group of experts was gathered together to come up with a way to warn future generations about the hazard of nuclear waste dumped at the WIPP site. They took this project very seriously, of course, but at least some of them had enough of a sense of humor to write a little future!fic that include the characters of Jo, Steve, Linda, and Cindy. Under the academic style, there were other glimmers of humor. It’s all so fascinating!

If you’re writing for this fandom, you have 10,000 years to work with! You could write anything at all and I would be thrilled to bits! The documents mention all types of future societies, from post-apocalyptic to high tech robots that have replaced mankind. Go wild!

I do have a few specific prompts if you want them.

I’d adore anything with the color changing cats! Anything! What if they become fashion accessories for some future society? Or maybe they become necessary for survival for people scavenging a post-apocalyptic wasteland. What if they’re found only around the WIPP site and they bring more people to see them, instead of warning them away?

If you’re not interested in cats, then any story involving the WIPP site would be fun. What do future cultures think of the site? Do they interpret the symbols and warnings correctly? Do superstitions grow around the site? Is it forgotten until some far future archaeologist uncovers it? Many different languages will be written on the markers including English, Spanish, Chinese, Navajo and several others. What if the markers are uncovered, and turn into some kind of Rosetta Stone for some far future culture?

I also had this thought that it might become a place where school field trips take place. Or a tourist attraction! WIPP World! If you decide to include Jo and Linda, this might be a great way to do it. As teachers? Students? Tour guides? There are all kinds of roles they could play -- in canon, they’re miners! But what about archaeologists? Storytellers? Farmers? Cat wranglers? Robots! If you want to write romance, please do!

Some Other Things:

I'm totally open to unusual styles - epistolary fiction, pastiches, outsider POV, non-traditional structures etc.

I like all kinds of stories - vignettes, hurt/comfort, character studies, back stories, plot driven, AUs, world building, gen, f/f, slash etc.

There are a few elements that I especially like to find in a story. Friendship, sisterhood, characters being true to themselves, CATS! DOGS! conflict, a sense of wonder, humor - including gallows humor,

Horror - Gore, violence, bloody revenge, body horror especially for Ginger Snaps Movies, ZOMBIES! post-apocalypse, creepiness, dangerous situations.

But it really isn't necessary. If you feel uncomfortable writing something hair raising, I'd be just as happy with some other type of story.

Lyric Wheel - let's have some fun!
So me and trillingstar were hanging out, talking about the old Oz Lyric Wheel, and feeling nostalgic when we suddenly realized, hey! why not start a new wheel?

Ready to have some old school fun? Head on over to lyric_wheel and take a look at The Rules for the new Oz Lyric Wheel. They're a little different from the original rules in that you'll be able to pick which lyrics you want to use.

My Birthday!
I had a pretty quiet birthday yesterday. BUT, my my gift from Trillingstar came in the mail and I was so thrilled, I was jumping all over the place. My friends know me so well! It really is perfect!

And dustandroses gave me ZOMBIES AND PINUPS!!! Do I have the most fabulous friends, or what! I love the whole thing, but the little girl at the end is deliciously gruesome! Mmmm, tasty! LOL

Last, I got some great loot from my husband, a collectible Island of Misfit Toys mug, and a big sippy mug that I can use for me iced tea, but the best thing of all is that he SAVED MY KEYBOARD!!! My beloved keyboard that I've had for 14 years. The keyboard that my cat spilled a whole glass of iced tea on - hence the new sippy mug. The cat got the shock of her life, and my poor keyboard managed to survive after emergency surgery.

So yeah, it was a good birthday in the end. I'm the big five-oh! 50! Good lord, time flies!

Thank you! Thank you for writing a story for me! I love these fandoms, and I'm looking forward to seeing which one we matched on. I would be thrilled with a story for any of the fandoms I requested. I really am very easy to please, so don't worry. I love any rating, from G to NC17. I tried to give a range of ideas, but if you have a story that doesn't line up with my prompts, then please feel free to write it! I really do mean that. Write what makes you happy, and I'll be happy too!

Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated:

I'm okay with any rating, gen or shippy fic are both fine with me.

I asked for Marcie and Velma. I'd love to see them solving a mystery together. It could be a typical Monster of the Week type mystery, or something else - maybe they have to find a lost artifact for Velma's mother's museum. If you don't want to write a mystery, then maybe the two of them doing research together? This could work for either a mystery or a school project. You could even have them studying for their college entrance exams.

If you want to write something shippy, some hand holding and a first time kiss would be really sweet. I'd love to see them hanging out, going to movies, poetry readings, and spending a lot of time together, and suddenly realizing they've been dating. If you really want to write porn, something sweet and awkward would be adorable. Just thinking about Marcie trying to get Velma out of that sweater is making me smile.

I love the other characters, so feel free to include them if you want, but please keep the focus on Marcie and Velma. Please, no Shaggy bashing.

Onmyouji:

I asked for Seimei and Hiromasa. I love them both, and I love their friendship. I also ship them, but I'm perfectly happy with gen for these guys.

This year I think I'd like some kind of transformation fic. There is this idea that Seimei might be able to change his shape, but I'd love to see Hiromasa transformed. Maybe an evil magician changes him into a cat! I can see Hiromasa being panicked and running through the streets until he finds Seimei.

Or maybe a jealous person makes Hiromasa ugly or even monstrous so that no one else will look at him. Or make him invisible! Anything that would make Hiromasa temporarily miserable until Seimei makes it all better.

If none of this resonates with you, I'm always up for them fighting a demon together, or solving a mystery.

Space Rangers:

I asked for Zylyn. Gen is great, but if you can figure out porn for him, I'd be pretty happy with it.

I'd love to see a day in the life of Zylyn. An ordinary day for him with some cultural misunderstandings would be fun. It would also be amusing to see Zylyn found guilty of some minor infraction and being sentenced to a day of community service. The discrepancy between what he considers "community service" and what he is assigned to do would be hilarious - he'd probably get passed from one area to another, inadvertently causing mayhem instead of actually helping.

Commander Chennault was the other character nominated, so if you want to include her, I'm okay with that. Maybe Zylyn has to help her with paperwork, or possibly with a delicate diplomatic negotiation.

If you want something more action oriented, Zylyn having to rescue his team from some peril (possibly Banshees?) would be great! I love all of the other characters so feel free to include them if you want.

Some Other Things:

It'll be pretty difficult to find something I won't like. Long, plotty gen or a short character piece are both fine. I like slice of life pieces, quiet domestic moments, both first times and established relationships. I like teams/pairs working together to solve a problem. Friendships are very important to me, so a focus on that would make me happy. I do love action adventures, and I prefer the characters actively working to solve problems. I should mention that I do like crack and tongue-in-cheek humor as long as you stay true to the characters. Angst is good too, but please include a happy ending.

Do Not Want:

Death fic. Some whump is great, but please, no permanent injury, particularly brain damage or amnesia. No BDSM or D/s relationships. No underage sex - I consider Marcie and Velma to be about 17 when the series starts and probably 18 by the time it ends. No extreme gore or gratuitous violence. No eyeball injury. No Character Bashing!!!

If You Need a Last Resort

These are my no fail, absolute favorite things, but don't feel any pressure to include them. The other ideas I outlined above would make me very happy. Seriously, don't even consider using these prompts if you don't feel them. Not everybody likes ZOMBIES AND KITTENS!!!

ZOMBIES!!! -- okay, I love zombies. One of my all time favorite shows is The Walking Dead. I've also been watching Z Nation - that's how into zombies I am. I included no death fic or permanent injury or gore in my DNW list, but for Zombies? All bets are off! Kill everybody! Kill them all! Kill them horribly! Seriously, go to town with it. If you want specific ideas:

Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated With Zombies:

Have Marcie and Velma fighting zombies in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Or riding to the rescue of the other team members. Or finding a way to prevent an apocalypse. One thing I love but is rarely shown in any zombie canon is rebuilding society after an apocalypse, so Marcie and Velma trying to rebuild their world would be amazing. I can see them as being very organized and capable leaders -- but ZOMBIES!!! They have a way of throwing a wrench into the works. And if you want to include Marcie and Velma fighting zombies with homemade flamethrowers, I'm not sure I'd be able to contain my joy!

Onmyouji With Zombies:

Zombies in Heian Japan? Yes please! Maybe an evil magician animates dead bodies and sends them to assassinate certain members of the court. Or maybe he builds a zombie army! Or how about a ghost animating bodies to get revenge? Or possibly to tell their story so justice can be served? But if you want to go the apocalypse route, I love that idea too!

Space Rangers:

A disease decimates everyone, human and alien alike. The victims become zombies! Zylyn has to fight his way to the ship where his team is waiting for him. Or maybe Zylyn crash lands on a quarantined planet and figures out why it was off limits -- an evil zombie experiment! Or maybe Zylyn becomes a zombie but nobody can tell the difference.

KITTIES!!!

This really is my no fail zone. Kittens make everything better, or at least cuter. I'm not going to be as specific here, I'm just going to throw out some ideas. Finding a stray kitten -- possibly shivering in the rain, going to a shelter to adopt a kitten, a character being transformed into a cat, spirit/ghost cats, a cat haunting someone, a cat as a messenger, a cat as a familiar. Please keep my DNW list in mind if you choose to include kittens/cats.

Whew! I hope this wasn't too long! Nothing I've mentioned is a demand, but simply suggestions. Again, if you have an idea of your own that you'd like to write, then go for it!

Oz Magi 2014 is HERE!!!


Don't miss out on getting a wish granted for the holiday season! Just keep in mind that if you ask for something, you have to give something. But it's really easy and low key and lots of fun. What Should Oz Do?
oz_big_bang is on hiatus this year. All three mods are involved in other projects. I'm sorry we can't have it this year, but I'm still very much interested in running a fest or two between now and oz_magi. I hope a lot of other Ozzies are interested as well!

Please fill out the poll and let me know what you're interested in doing. This is not just for writers! No matter what ideas are chosen, I want artists to be involved as well. I would love some discussion for any of the ideas below, or whatever you guys come up with.

Keep in mind that I really don't want to do any exchange style fest. Matching, especially for a small fandom, is tough enough, but finding pinch hitters is a real headache. I'm not sure I can do a Bingo style fest either, but I'm all for someone else hosting one!

Help with Memories on LJ
I'm trying to calm down because I'm sure there is a work around for this.

I've been modding hardtime100 for several years now, and I've worked hard to keep the memories up to date on LJ. Every post in the community is in memories. Until now.

Has there been a recent update to the memory function on LJ? Because it appears that I can no longer save any memories to communities. When I click on the memory heart at the top of any post at hardtime100 I only get the options to save the memory to my own private LJ. I don't even get an option to save to the community.

I'm sure there is a way to still save a post to the community, but I can't find it. Maybe I need to be a paid user? In which case, I won't be saving memories at LJ any more.

I've checked the FAQ and it has been singularly unhelpful.

I seriously wish I could transfer the memories to DW where hardtime100 is mirrored.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it turns out I'm missing the obvious.

ETA: Thank you alettertoelise for the answer! It seems LJ made an already hinky process even more complicated. Save the memory, then GO TO your memory page, THEN categorize the uncategorized posts after switching to the community you want to save in.

YULETIDE!!!
OMG I got the best story for Yuletide! I'm so thrilled with The Fox Bride! The story is Pet Shop of Horrors, and the writer did everything right - great characterization, a great plot with unusual twists, the Pets along for the ride. The writer took my prompt - D goes in search of Leon - and did totally unexpected things with it. I was absolutely delighted with D and the pets being the detectives for a change. I very thoroughly enjoyed my story, and if you are in the least familiar with Pet Shop of Horrors, take a look! Please remember to leave a comment, the writer deserves a ton for going above and beyond on this story.

My SGA Santa Fic! AWESOME!
Is it wrong to think that I got the very best story for Christmas. I mean, I REALLY DID GET THE BEST STORY IN THE WORLD! My writer went above and beyond filling my requests. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to throw in just about everything I listed. BUT SHE DID! I asked for a canon AU -- and she gave me two! My writer crossed, Daedalus Variation with Road Not Taken and it really really works. It could easily have been a mess, but the writing is top notch. The plotting was stellar. Great use of Radek, and I'm thrilled he got such substantial role. I very thoroughly enjoyed my story.
