A little of this...a little of that

So, I thought I would add a few more of our fantastically fun things we did during the summer. Dave and I celebrated our sixth anniversary in June. I can't believe six years have come and gone. I have loved every minute being married to this amazing man. The morning of our anniversary Dave took me on a hike to this beautiful waterfall. How could I not  lay one on him? I love this man!

Image
My parents have been kind enough to let us borrow their boat on occasion to head out to the lake. It was so nice to be out on the water, eating snacks which mostly consisted of powdered doughnuts, soda, chips, and pretty much everything else unhealthy. I love it! Benson however, ended up eating an apple, well part of it. Then he chucked it in the water!

Eric and Dave trying to land the BIG ONE!

Benson had fun trying to learn how to fish with his cousin sage. Although I don't have a picture, Lincoln loved  boating as well. Must be something about that fresh lake air...and the snacks!

Image

I was lucky enough to be able to run in the Utah Valley half marathon in June. I had so much fun, even though I couldn't walk for a few days following. I was so grateful to my supporters who came and cheered me on. What a blessing it is to have family!

Image

Recently, we were able to attend a Jazz game. Dave's work was generous enough to provide box seats. We had so much fun. Benson loved watching the game and kept yelling go Mitt! I guess we have been coaching him too much during the debates.

Bring out yer dead...we're not dead yet!

I have decided to come out of my shameful corner, brush off the cobwebs and blog. How do you put nearly a year of photos in a post? You don't! So for the next while I will be playing catchup so I can give the important events in our lives their place in the sun.

Image

We had a really fun summer! A lot of our time was spent at the petting zoo at Thanksgiving point. Just looking at this picture makes me want to break into the Mr. Ed theme song.

Image

Benson loved seeing all the animals and especially loved feeing the horses. We had to have a special team meeting about feeding the horses the food and not your fingers. I think Benson caught on, no loss of digits yet!

Image

Baa Ram Ewe...sheep be true! I know that isn't a sheep. But can't you see those words coming out of this teeny goat. So cute!

Lincoln looking suave in his Sunday best!

These are pictures from Lincoln's first day of school. I swear he was excited. Well...he was excited to be riding the bus again. Benson was equally excited to see the bus. He tries to get on everyday. I think his hopes are that one day I won't notice and he will get to go to school with his big bro. Sorry dude, not happening!

The following pictures are at the Real Salt Lake soccer stadium. Dave's work was being honored at the game for being the official eye care providers of Real Salt Lake. So fun! We were able to come before the game where we were fed dinner and then were led to our posh seats.

Image

Our seats were pretty much on the field. Even though I am not a huge soccer fan, it was a lot of fun being so close to the action. Benson pretty much thought he had died and gone to sports heaven. He cheered and booed and loved wearing his VIP pass. I think we have a sports fanatic on our hands. Lincoln had a great time as well. He loved having the freedom to run around and be silly! The only thing I truly hate about soccer is that the game can end in a tie. What the?

Image

This was me trying to get Benson pumped up for the game. Didn't work! Camera shy!

Image

I love our little family so much! We have so much fun together. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing husband and two wonderful boys! Life is good!

Image

After the game got boring, Lincoln whipped out the Ipad to keep himself company. The kid is so smart with electronics. LOVE. HIM. TO. DEATH!

Do not worry! We are not dead! These past few months have been a complete whirlwind. We have moved four times since May and pretty much feel like we have gone crazy! Despite the crazy we have done a few fun fun things. When Dave moved to Pocatello to live with the Indians we decided to visit one of our favorite spots. Rexburg! We started our day going to the Idaho Falls Zoo. The kids loved it! At least they look excited!

Image

After the Zoo we headed to Rexburg and hit a few hot spots. We ended up at one of the most delicious places around. Nielsen's Frozen Custard. If you haven't been there, SHAME! (And please go as soon as life lends you the opportunity, it is amazing!)

Love my handsome boys!

We visited the Vineyard Gardens Pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun!

Let's get ready to RUMBLE!

Catchin a few needed Z's in the bouncy house!

On October 8th we participated in the walk for Autism Speaks. It was held at the Rio Tinto stadium which is pretty awesome. I know the Farr's can appreciate its' awesomeness!

Image

We were so happy to have family there to support Lincoln and Autism Speaks in spreading awareness for Autism spectrum disorder. Lovin' on his grandpa!

Just waiting to start. Sure glad I had been practicing my speed walking. It was brutal out there!

Lincoln was a champ and showed everyone up in speed and cuteness!

Image

Dave and I were lucky enough to attend a BYU Cougar football game. Despite the cold, it was a lot of fun. I am still amazed at how people react during sporting events. Don't get me wrong, I love a good game and fair competition but people...it is just a game!

Halloween pretty much rocks at my parents' house. Halloween day could not have been more beautiful. We carved these pumpkins outside with no jackets on. It was bliss! The pumpkins didn't turn out so bad either.

Image

We had to pay homage to Toy Story one our favorite movies and my brother Jairus, did us proud by carving his favorite cereal box character. Do you see what I am talking about?

Image

Benson and his cousin Sage were so cute as Tinkerbell and a lost boy. Lincoln was sick but he made the cutest Peter Pan I ever did see!

Image

Image

My parents yard looked awesome! I thought it looked pretty scary. They handed out warm churros and hot chocolate and projected Thriller on their garage for trick-or-treaters to enjoy!

Benson could not. get. enough. of the fog!

These last pictures didn't turn out very well but they tell a great story! My sister and brother-in-law gave Lincoln some sessions at Courage Reins. It is a ranch where children with disabilities can come and get therapy using horses. Lincoln will soon be going every Saturday and we are hopeful it will help him with some of his anxiety and maybe even some communication. The people who work there are amazing with Lincoln and I am so grateful for their patience in working with him.

They work on signing go, stop, more, horse, fun, all done and many more. Lincoln loved petting the horses mane. It was amazing!

Haircuts, Stories, Messes, and Anniversaries

On June 30th, Dave and I celebrated our fifth anniversary. I can't believe it has been five years since I married my most favoritist person! The picture below was on our first date. I feel so blessed to be married to Dave. He makes me want to be better everyday. I have been so amazed to see my love for him grow and grow. Dave, I love you so much! If there was an award for husband of the day...I would give it to you every single day. Thanks for putting up with me and for working so hard for our family!

Image
For our anniversary (and my 27th birthday which just happens to be the same day) We ate dinner at Red Lobster and then made this delicious chocolate malt cake. I wish I had some right now! YUM!
Image
Image
As you can see from the picture below, Benson has become quite the multi-tasker. Sucking on the soap bottle, washing his feet while controlling the water flow, and looking good at the same time. I don't know how he does it!
Image
I had been in denial for a while that Benson was in need of a haircut. Doesn't that mean he is growing up? I won't believe it! Needless to say I broke down and finally cut loose his long, beautiful, baby hair. Benson wasn't too keen on the idea but a little bribery with some M&M's did just the trick. He looks so handsome! Still not sure where his blond hair came from.?.

Image
This was our amazing view of the Columbia River as we waited for the 4th of July fireworks to begin. It was a beautiful..smack...sorry, that was me swatting a mosquito. As I was saying, it was a beautiful night. The sky was...smack...sorry, mosquito! We felt lucky to...smack...dang mosquito! It was fun! (Despite the bugs!)
Image
Handsome Dave and dashing Lincoln taking in the sights! Love them!
Image
Benson loved the outdoors like a fat kid likes cake. Wait, I like cake. Crap!

Image
Lincoln loves books! This is a common scene at our house. Books strewn everywhere while Lincoln assumes his favorite reading position. I heart him!
Image
When I came into the kitchen the other day, I came upon this crime scene. No one was injured except for a can of Williams-Sonoma Ebelskiever mix.
Image
Image
He tried to escape arrest with his "look how cute I am" face. It did not work. I read him his miranda rights and whisked him off to the tub. Nice try buddy!
Image
Oops I did it again!
