Welcome to finest model resource sites on the planet! About SFMLab SFMLab is an independent site that means to provide a place for artists to share files for use in Source Filmmaker. It host models, textures, maps, guides and other resources for machinima filmmakers. The site also offers exclusive content that is not available on the Steam Workshop, as well as tutorials on Source Engine related subjects. About Smutba.se Smutba.se grew from a growing dissatisfaction with Source Filmmaker. A tool like SFM offers a simple learning curve and a great repository of models, but can become limiting once you have higher ambitions. When wanting to level up and get started with real 3D creation tools like Maya, Cinema4D and Blender, we found that there was no suitable repository of freely available resources to choose from. Hence, Smutba.se was created for the exchange of such models, as well as tutorials and resources for beginning artists to hone their skills. About Open3dLab After the success of Smutba.se, there was a niche left unfilled: a resource site for general purpose 3D models for use with common 3D tools like Blender. That's where Open3DLab comes in, rounding out the network of sites. It has proven to be an invaluable resource for general use environments, and props. About Open3dLab's Youtube channel What good is a resource site if you don't know how to use the software? In 2020, I started recording tutorial videos to help beginners get started in our community. Dry, boring tutorial videos with the occasional comedic edge to it. I hope you find these videos useful and interesting. Why Patreon? The Open3DLab Network has been running strong for over a decade now. SFMLab started in 2014, and Smutba.se was started in 2016. A few bumps in the road here and there, but it's steadily growing to be the largest model resource of its kind. However, it's a one-man operation, and hosting and maintaining a site costs time and money. It's a costly side project that I operate in my spare time, and as the sites grow, so do their resource demands. This is why I'm turning to Patreon. It offers a great opportunity for both myself and you, the community, to support each-other. By supporting us on Patreon, you're supporting every 3D artist you know and love. Giving them content to create their amazing animations. Please help Open3DLab grow even more into the future! If Patreon is not to your liking, please consider supporting us on SubscribeStar.
