1: Due to general interest: The Damien Dubrovnik tape on Järtecknet, maybe their best release. Very drone-synth oriented to a point of almost having harmonic underpinnings, making the tape as listenable as this kind of music gets:

Concert in Århus and shiggajon upload

On the 25th of August, pcib will be hosting a night of free music in Århus along with golem tapes, raum eins, ljud, splab and DJK. This one:


And staying in the region of the shiggajon-related, this band recently uploaded what is probably their most interesting release to date for free download - the live 3-tape:

The band writes: "This was a pretty important concert for us, recorded back in December 2009 at Prøvehallen in Copenhagen with a 11-piece line-up. The music moves from repetitive folkish chanting through aggressive full-on celestial communication and on to more abstract, fragmented territory. Limited to 70 tapes and an unlimited amount of cd-rs."

Golem tapes

We want to bring your attention to a new Danish tape-label run by Mikkel RL of free music collective Shiggajon, focusing on the many and very productive danish underground music scenes; Golem Tapes.

The first batch was released this friday and features four Danish "rock"-like projects that are all recommended. Go to www.golemtapes.blogspot.com for artwork and samples:

Repress on black tapes with second sorting of covers. Free, aggressive psychedelic klezmer for clarinet and drums.

First release by hk for many years and a clear contrast to their early "psychedelic" black metal/noise-releases. Repetitive wall of sound, variations on a theme.

Unpretentious spacerock, a debut release. Flat dynamics and a repetitive, hypnotic flow.

Collage drone debutants Tarhumans and free form insanity unit Mette Mareridt build a rough and narrow maze of brain-drilling cymbal bowing, akward percussives and hazey, violet and heavily sticky no wave walls. These recordings are a fiery collision between two of Copenhagen's most schizophrenic and abstract outfits where everything is constantly changing and constantly open.

Another document from two well known silhouettes in new electronic music. Pummeler and The North Sea present an extreme adventure of violent FX explosions detailedly reflecting nature's rite of anger, eroding forests and heavy rain causing the soil to vanish from the flood. A complete degeneration followed by deep afterglows of slow-growing sound cycles and dysthopic synthesizers oozing, flowing and drowning.

Dead Black Arms / Fire Serpent
"Last Primary Experience / Premature Enlightenment"

Two of Copenhagen's finest noise and drone constructors, Dead Black Arms aka Claus Haxholm and Fire Serpent aka Bjørn Puggaard, entwine and submerge into a colorful cauldron where wamth and solace meet frost and distress. This split is a breathtaking stream of minimal, psychedelic sinus drone compositions floating slowly in thin air amongst the deep ravines of a barren earth.

Caves - II

The new caves-tape was recently released. The music is very different from the older noiseish material, this time focusing solely on minimal acoustic drone-music using classical instrumentation (cello, clarinet, violins..). Listen to a couple of samples below.

Two new releases
