The Q1 2026 Member's Challenge topic is Light. Guidelines: The new challenge is … LIGHT. Sure it takes light to illuminate a photo but I’m talking about light taking on the starring role, or at least the co-star. Here’s what I’m thinking: Direct Light: City Lights Holiday Lights Sun - as in sunrise or sunset Moon - I know, it’s actually a reflection but it can cast a lot of light Stars Crepuscular light - rays of the sun Back light Backlit edges Silhouettes Dramatic shadows Lens flare Painting with light Look at the slideshow above for some examples. Have fun, Denny Send up to 3 photos taken during the quarter to QuarterlyChallenge at gmail dot com. Remember, any post processing is allowed. If you add elements from another photo (like sky replacement) those elements must have been photographed by you within the quarter. Use of AI is limited to removing unwanted objects (like people) from your photo. For example the Remove Tool in Photoshop. But please do not use AI to add anything (say, a dragon flying across the sky!) Q4 2025 Photo Challenge WinnersFirst Place : Mark Cohen “Chairs at Hostage Square” Second Place: Monte Hudson ”Ceiling Light” Third Place: Shari Rodgers "Seeing Spots" The topic was Textures and Patterns. All of the challenge photos can be seen on our Flickr site on this page. Past Challenge winners can be seen via the CONTESTS tab above. |
