Want boots in narrow, that I will not fall on my ass in. Would prefer stompier, but can not find both stompy and narrow.

11:18 pm: Ramblings from My Couch
I called in sick this afternoon, having finally gotten stuck with one of the multiple plagues I've been exposed to lately.
I probably should have called in sick yesterday too.

I think I'm disappointed with the Organic delivery service I've been using lately. They're offering peaches and strawberries from California, when they're in season right around here. Now, if I could find a place to conveniently buy the local ones...

I made it through the night at work, though not at my best. A friend helped me bury my rat in the woods.
I'm worried about Pierre, my remaining rat. He's always been Tayo's rat, never really prefering human contact, so I don't know how he will fair alone.

07:13 pm: Rip Tayo Templeton Longtail the First
My first and beloved rat, Tayo, died today. His health was declining, but I wasn't ready to lose him. He died an hour before I had to leave for work, so I was sobbing and trying to not be squicked out while getting him ready to be buried, and frantically calling a co worker to see if she can help bury him. I had to put him in the freezer until we can do it. It sucks. Now I am at work.

09:42 am: Attn Cat Owners
A survey:
What kind of cat litter do you use? My ideal would be something that clumps, and controls odor, but doesn't smell all Fabreezeish perfumey.
Do you cut your cat's claws? My cat likes to knead things with her claws. Things include the couch, where she gets her claws stuck, and my stomach, ouch! Maybe blunted tips would help.
How long do you leave your cats alone if you go on a trip? I'm going camping this weekend, leaving on Saturday and coming back Monday. I think she'll be ok for that amount of time, but I'm not sure.
Other than these lagistics to work out, she is purry and lovey and wonderful.

12:46 pm: Kitty!
She's here. She cried the whole cab ride home, but mostly I think, because her previous owners didn't have a cat carrier for her as promised, and she was stuffed into a diaper box. But as soon as I let her out she started purring and snuggling up for pets. I think this is a very good sign.
She's all black, with very thick short furr. She has very big ears, and a tail that sticks up. I think I may be in love.

08:42 pm: I Was Going To wWait, But...
I'm having commitment anxiety, so I must tell you all.
I've commited to adopting a cat, sight unseen. She belongs to an aquaintence whose daughter is alergic.
Her litter box is set up, everything she needs is here. I can go get her on Tuesday.
I am excited and absurdly nervous.
Also, the dust from pouring her litter into the box is making my lungs hurt.
