I went outside today to take out the trash and noticed some pretty flowers, so I took some photos!

Pretty little pansies

Our cars, covered in snow. Yesterday before the snow started our driveway was pretty much all bare. Not so much today...


The snow was 3/4 of the way to my knee this morning.

The snow is the wet, heavy stuff. Several of the branches from Sappy McBark are touching the ground. Normally they're about 5 feet or more in the air, since I'm able to walk under then without ducking.

At least the temperatures for the next few days are supposed to be above freezing, so it should melt quickly.

Casey couldn't get his car out of the driveway this morning, so he's working from home. If I didn't still have work to finished, I'd have called it a snow day and went back to bed. I ended up working last night until about 11:30pm, starting around 8am with a break for lunch, dinner and a shower. My shoulder is sore from the repetitive motion of swapping out images in Flash.

Yesterday evening we had a freezing rain warning in effect. This morning, everything was coated in ice and rather slippery! I ventured outside in the morning to take a few photos. I've been waiting ages to get photos from freezing rain again. The last time I took some I was still in college and was using a film camera and they didn't turn out as well as I had wanted them to.

I just walked into the bedroom to find this and I laughed. That is one comfortable, happy looking cat!

The new favourite sleeping spot of the cats. Queue hates this cat bed that we got from Andrew and Michelle. If you put him in it, he hops out almost as if it's hot coals. Neko on the other hands loves this cat bed. Imagine our surprised when we found both cats sleeping in it! They've never done this before!

Queue spent a large portion of the evening sleeping in this and then today, wouldn't have anything to do with it. Then, as I was about to go shower, I found him in there, happily sleeping in the sunlight streaming in through the window. He's such a silly cat.

Casey peeled himself an orange a few days ago, this was the result. Doesn't it look like a person running or doing a jig or something?

I actually had to look up a bunch of the lyrics for these!

It's been snowing here for over 24 hours now. We didn't even bother venturing outside yesterday although we probably should have done some shoveling to make today's shoveling a little easier. The snow came to just below my knees while wading through our driveway and I was surprised that I could get the gate open to the back yard so I could grab our shovels.

Our driveway. We shoveled the end this morning, enough for Casey to get his car out so he could go to work. It took him quite a few tries to back out of the driveway because of how deep the snow was.

I happened to come across the CPR Holiday Train on my way home from knitting last night. I quickly ran home and grabbed my camera and Casey. The train was just leaving as we got there, so I didn't get many good photos.

Neko's catnip mouse. This mouse has definitely seen better days. I found one of the ears in the basement the other day. An eye is missing and the tail is coming apart. Neko carries this mouse around the house in his mouth, batting and swatting at it. He loves it! It went missing for a few days and I mentioned that to Casey yesterday. Then, last night I walked into the kitchen and there it was, on the floor.

Neko, asleep in my office. He looked so cute sprawled out like that.

Airplane Queue! Casey runs around the house with Queue in the box like this. The cat doesn't seem to care, which surprised me.

Disadvantage of working from home: being distracted by a very inviting back yard. You can't see very well, but in the shade of Sappy McBark (the really big tree) is our swing. It gets such wonderful shade there in the day time.

I'm going to try to get all my work done by 3pm and then go read outside on the swing.

I forgot to introduce our newest gnome to the family: Gnorman Gnome. He'll be living the summers outside in the flower bed and vacationing in the winter somewhere within our house. He's still daydreaming about his winter vacation spot.
