My baby is getting older...

Image

Not the one on the left (even though she is too) but the one on the right:)

Phil is 31 today! I am not going to get all cheese-ball, but I'm really happy to have someone like Phil to share my life with. Phil is an example of slow & steady wins the race. Phil is an example of drive & discipline create success. It comes in very handy to be married to him since I am more like the rabbit in the race. He works hard and is in diligent in all he does. It makes me proud to see his perseverance every single day.

And lucky for me, I think he is hitting his stride in his 30's:)

Happy Birthday Phil!

Sowby's Christmas Eve Party

Every year my aunt & uncle, Karen & Sherm, have a Christmas Eve party. I consider them a second mom & dad because I lived with them for two summers during college. I loved those summers & I love them:) A word has to be said about Karen's house...probably the cutest Christmas-decorated house I've laid my eyes on! Her colors are not very typical: black, white & red. She uses only those colors and it just pops! I wish I would have taken pictures of her tree. Anyway, please note her stockings in the picture with Phil & Reese. My mom sewed them for her. Too cute!Image

Harley, one of my cousin's daughters, & Reese.  What style they have;) I had to snap a picture of the these girls in their outfits.

Check out those stockings...I love them!

Grandma & Grrandpa Jennings. It is hard to get Reese to go to anyone else when these guys are around.

Jamie & Nick (Reese calls him "Nac") Reese has such doting aunts & uncles.

We left with black & white cupcakes that had a red & black Sowby label. Karen also gave Reese reindeer food that she absolutely loved & a Santa cookie.

Miss Two-Year Old

Image
Reese turned 2 today. She loved wearing her "Princess Burfday Crown." I think she definitely knew it was HER day! We are going to have a party for her later, but on her special day she:

  • Enjoyed the balloons all over the house when she woke up
  • Loved her morning hash browns
  • Picked out her tutu & bootsies (boots) to wear
  • Was thrilled to take chocolate cupcakes to Tina's (her babysitter while I worked a half day)
  • Visited Grandma McDonald at work
  • Went to the aquarium w/ Addie, Sarah & Maysie
  • Ate her favorite food, pizza, at the Pizza Factory w/ Grandma Jennings, Mom & Dad
  • Played with her new little kitchen set
  • (Of course mom forgot her camera during the day festivities, so this photo is from Grandma's iphone)
Happy Birthday Reese! You bring so much fun & joy into our lives!

I LOVE SANTA

So, I know I'm like the worst blogger EVER, but look at my beautiful new blog! I asked Phil for Christmas to re-vamp my blog. I sketched what I wanted it to look like and "Viola," he did it. I'm in love! Hopefully, it will give me more motivation to blog, but I'm not making myself any promises. Even though, my little Reesie is growing up in front of my eyes and I want to remember all the cute things she does (even some of the not so cute things)!!

I will try to play some catch up. But for now, her Christmas PJ's! Her wonderful Grandma Debbie-Do (McDonald) gave her these adorable I LOVE SANTA PJ's for Christmas and some to her McDonald cousins, Addie & Maysie. Last year, Reese only had 1 cousin on both sides and now she has 4! Pretty fun! Anyway, we snapped some cute pics of the girls in their Christmas PJ's. Reese looks so big in these pictures...she is almost 2!

Christmas has been a lot of fun this year because Reese kinda understands what's going on. She won't sit on Santa's lap, but she knows she should ask for, "Beuuty an da Beast." She's quite a princess or at least motivated by princesses! Love her!

Ashley & Scott's Wedding

My sister, Ashley, was married in December to a stud of a man, Scott Whitaker. I was so happy for her and excited that Scott is now a part of our family. I've had three siblings get married this past year! It has been one wedding after the other. What fun! We had a great time celebrating the day with Scott & Ashley.Image One of their many beautiful engagement pics...I don't think this girl ever takes a bad picture!
Image The growing family. Now T-roy is the only one not married. I'm predicting this coming year!
Image My mom & Reese. I found this adorable coat for Reese to wear to the temple from the DI for $2.00...I wish I would have gotten a better photo of it.

Image "Gangsta" pose as my family cause it, but I am not gangsta at all, so usually Phil & I usually just look silly in these photos! Reese is looking at my mom like, "What the heck are you doing?!"
Image My brother Tyler & Rachel flew in for the wedding from Florida. Rachel looked so cute with her baby bump! Reese is going to have a baby boy cousin in March...so exciting!

Saturday Errands

It has been a long time since I've had a Saturday off and it felt wonderful:) I have now gone to part-time (30 hours) at work and I'm loving it! I feel like I have a life again. Yesterday after Reese woke up from her morning nap, we went and ran some Saturday errands.

Reese likes to sit on the bed when I get ready, even though this is becoming a little dangerous because she can crawl now. Actually now that I'm thinking about it, I should probably stop this tradition. I had her all bundled up because it was snowing, and I just had to snap some pics and try on her winter hat. It's a miracle she didn't rip it off! This Little Miss makes me so happy I can't stand it sometimes.

We had fun going from store to store wasting time for a change. Usually, I have no time to waste on Saturdays. She loves being put in the shopping carts. She flaps her arms and makes lots of noises as we cruise around. How nice to always have a shopping companion!

Discovering Utah

I have in been in Utah now for almost 7 years and just started to discover some of the beauties this state has to offer. In May, Phil & I went to Zions National Park & Arches National Park. They were both pretty spectacular. I loved the Delicate Arch pictured below. It is gorgeous and "license-plate worthy" as my brother-in-law Blair put it. I would recommend the trip to anyone!Image It is an hour long hike to get up to the arch and then you turn a corner all of the sudden and you are there...breathtaking! Reese had a rage attack at the top b/c she was exhausted & it was past her feeding time. She crashed after the tears & bottle.

Image She absolutely loved being in this thing! So fun!

ImageThe whole gang! We went Phil's family and his aunt & uncle Laury & Wayne and their girls, our fav, Taylor & Sydney.

Image I think this picture is hilarious. She is just passed out!
Image Beautiful scenery

Phil and I were literally getting back on I-15 to head to Salt Lake from Travis' & Alise's wedding when we asked ourselves, "Why didn't we go to Zions?" We turned around, found out it was 30 minutes away, convinced my sister Ashley & bro Troy to join us and off we went! We packed a little lunch and went on a small hike to Emerald Pools. Lots of fun!
