How much does Adobe Firefly cost

By Matic Broz ·

On February 12, 2025, Adobe introduced the Firefly Video Model along with Firefly subscriptions. Previously, each Adobe Creative Cloud plan included a few hundred generative credits, ranging from 100 to 1,000. The new Firefly plans offer more generative credits at a lower cost, but they don’t include access to any Adobe app.

Adobe initially stated that subscription prices would rise after March 15 but then extended the introductory pricing through April 28 and introduced an additional tier—Firefly Premium.

In this article, I’ll break down exactly how much Adobe Firefly costs, what each subscription includes, and help you determine which plan provides the best value for your creative needs.

How much does Adobe Firefly cost?

You can get 100 generative credits included with the Lightroom 1TB plan, 500 credits with most single-app plans, and 1,000 credits with Creative Cloud All Apps. If you just want to use Firefly without needing any apps, Adobe also has dedicated Firefly plans.

The entry plan, Firefly Standard, offers 2,000 generative credits per month and costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year billed upfront ($8.23/mo). You can get more generative credits (7,000) with the Firefly Pro plan for $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year ($25/mo). High-volume users can now also get Firefly Premium with 50,000 credits for $199.99 per month or $1,999.99 per year ($166.67 per month).

Here’s a complete comparison of all three Adobe Firefly plans:

The main difference between all three Firefly subscriptions is the number of monthly credits you get (2,000 – 50,000) and the monthly fee you pay ($9.99 – $199.99). The more credits you buy upfront, the lower the cost per credit.

How much is Adobe Firefly for teams?

Adobe Firefly plans cost the same for teams as for individuals, with the only difference being that the price is per license. Thus, the Firefly Standard plan costs $9.99/mo per license, while the Firefly Pro for teams costs $29.99/mo per license.

For example, for a team of two, the Firefly Standard plan costs 2× $9.99/mo = $19.98/mo, while a team of 10 will pay $99.90 per month. If you have a team larger than 250 members, you need to get an enterprise plan.

Note: Firefly Premium is currently not available for teams.

How are credits used?

Adobe Firefly uses a system of “generative credits” to manage the use of its AI features. The number of credits consumed depends on the complexity of the generation task. Here’s a table summarizing the credit costs:

  • Generative Video (beta) 1080p — 20 credits per second 100 credits per second
  • Translate Video and Translate Audio — 5 credits per second
  • Translate & Lip Sync — 10 credits per second
  • Standard Image & Vector Generations — 1 credit per generation

Other generations consume no credits for now. This includes features such as Generate Text Effects and Clip Maker in Adobe Express and other Generative features in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Substance 3D.

How much is Adobe Firefly for students?

Students can get all the Firefly plans for individuals, costing $9.99/mo for the Standard and $29.99/mo for the Pro. The only student benefit is the Creative Cloud All Apps plan for students and teachers, which comes with a 66% discount at $19.99 per month and with 1,000 generative credits.

Is there an Adobe Firefly free trial?

Currently, there’s no free trial for the Adobe Firefly Standard and Pro plans. However, you can get any other Adobe Creative Cloud free trial, which will include anywhere from 100 to 1,000 generative credits. To get the most generative credits, pick the Creative Cloud All Apps plan.

What if I run out of generative credits?

If you’re subscribed to the Firefly Standard plan, you can upgrade to Firefly Pro to get an additional 5,000 credits per month. If you already have a Firefly Pro plan, you can use multiple Firefly Pro plans because they are stackable.

However, if you’re paying for a Creative Cloud Single App plan or Creative Cloud All Apps plan, you can simply add a Firefly plan to your subscription.
