Adobe Creative Cloud has almost 32+ million subscribers

Adobe Creative Cloud was launched on April 22, 2012. By March 2013, it had raked in more than half a million users, increasing to 1.4 million by the end of the year.

Since then, Adobe hasn’t released any official numbers. Using the extrapolation, as well as Adobe’s official revenue reports, we estimated that by the end of 2017, Creative Cloud had over 12 million active subscribers. This number increased to 22 million in 2021, and is between 32 and 33 million in 2025.

Number of creative cloud subscribers

In recent years, Creative Cloud has gained between 2 and 3 million new subscribers every year.

Currently, the main unknown is the new Firefly plans, where we lack precise subscriber data. We can’t determine how many people have Firefly-only subscriptions based on image generation metrics alone, as various Creative Cloud subscribers receive between 100 and 1,000 generative credits based on their specific plan.

Adobe Stock has 600+ million files

After acquiring Fotolia in 2015 and renaming it Adobe Stock, Adobe’s library of royalty-free files quickly became one of the best stock image sites and royalty-free video providers.

As of 2025, Adobe Stock offers 600+ million assets, including more than 366 million images and 214 million AI images, as well as 37 million, 85,000 music files, and over 1 million free photos, vectors, videos, templates, illustrations, and 3D assets.

Adobe Firefly has been used to generate 15 billion images

In October 2024, Adobe shared that Firefly has generated more than 13 billion images—an increase of more than 6 billion since March. Since its official release in October, Firefly has generated an additional 2 billion images, for a total of 15 billion. At 1 billion images generated a month (here, Adobe also counts Generative Fill results from Photoshop), Firefly is the most widely used generative AI model.

Adobe has acquired at least 55 companies

Over the years, Adobe has acquired at least 55 companies related to graphic design and photography. Following the hype around acquiring Figma, which quickly subsided after the companies mutually broke off the deal, Adobe hasn’t announced any other acquisition in over a year.
