The release of the Google Veo 3 AI video generator started the so-called AI vlogs. This started a host of trends, with the most popular (and entertaining) being Bigfoot vlogs.
The best tools for creating AI vlogs:
Curious about this new trend and as an Envato subscriber, I decided to try creating an AI vlog myself—and it turned out to be easier than I expected.
In this guide, I will share everything I’ve learned about AI vlogs, including what they are, how to create them, and address your licensing questions.

What are AI vlogs?
AI vlogs are videos created using AI video generators that feature imaginary people and mythical creatures living typical influencer lives.
AI vlogs became possible with the release of Google Veo 3, a text-to-video AI model that surpassed all previous models. This advanced model also generates realistic audio and speech to accompany the video, greatly simplifying the creation process.
How to create an AI vlog
Creating an AI vlog used to involve three steps. First, you had to create multiple consistent AI-generated images of your character in various environments. Next, you animated these images using an image-to-video generator. Finally, you had to produce an AI voiceover and synchronize it with the animation. The results, however, were often disappointing because it was impossible to achieve proper synchronization.
Everything changed and became simpler with the release of the most advanced AI video generator to date—Veo 3. The tool can generate up to 8-second videos from a simple text prompt, complete with synchronized audio, so the characters appear to be speaking.
A step-by-step guide
Here are the steps (you’ll need an active subscription – you can get 10% off).
- Open Envato VideoGen
- Enter your prompt
- Click Generate
- Wait a few minutes for the video to generate
- Download your AI video

How to create a prompt
If you’re used to lazily creating AI images with prompts like “cute dog”, you’ll have to up your game for AI vlogs. Generative models need hyper-specific instructions to create what you want. This is a quick formula that works great.
You can use my template. First, define what your character looks like.
- Character: [CHARACTER] in [CLOTHING/ARMOR/OUTFIT]
- Location: [SPECIFIC LOCATION – kitchen, bedroom, backyard, etc.]
- Camera: [CAMERA ANGLE – selfie angle, handheld, front-facing, etc.]
- Lighting: [LIGHTING TYPE – morning light, soft lighting, bright kitchen lighting, etc.]
- Action: [MAIN ACTION/ACTIVITY CHARACTER IS DOING]
- Dialogue: “[WHAT THEY SAY TO CAMERA – include personality/voice tone]”
- Optional twist: [SOMETHING GOES WRONG OR FUNNY HAPPENS]
Then fill in the blanks in the following template to create your text prompt:
“A [CHARACTER] in [OUTFIT] [ACTION] at/in [LOCATION], [CAMERA ANGLE], [LIGHTING]. [DESCRIBES WHAT GOES WRONG]. [CHARACTER VOICE]: ‘[FUNNY DIALOGUE ADDRESSING AUDIENCE].'”
Here’s the prompt I created.
A Stormtrooper stands in backyard holding a nerf blaster, handheld camera angle. He aims at a trash can 3 feet away, fires and completely misses. Sighs: Day 847 of target practice. Still can’t hit anything. At least I’m consistent. What’s up rebels, welcome back to my channel.
And here’s the result.
AI vlogs FAQs
Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about AI vlogs.
How much do AI vlogs cost?
The cost of AI vlogs depends mainly on which tool you choose. The cheapest option is Envato, where a single video costs only about $1. Other platforms like Gemini AI Ultra charge around $5 to $15 per video.
If you’re planning to post regularly, Envato’s subscription model at $16.50/month gives you the best value—you can create dozens of videos for less than what a single video would cost on other platforms.
Are AI vlogs allowed on YouTube?
Yes, AI vlogs are allowed on YouTube as long as you follow their community guidelines and disclose that your content is AI-generated. YouTube requires creators to label synthetic or AI-generated content, especially when it depicts realistic people or events.
The same goes for other social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook—they’re generally fine with AI content as long as you’re transparent about it and don’t use it to spread misinformation.
Can you monetize AI vlogs?
Yes, you can monetize AI vlogs through YouTube’s Partner Program, brand sponsorships, and other revenue streams. But your content needs to meet YouTube’s originality standards, which means you can’t just pump out generic AI videos and expect to make money.
The key is creating original storylines and characters that viewers actually want to follow. Think of popular AI vloggers like the Bigfoot trend; they’re successful because they’re entertaining, not just because they’re AI-generated.
How long does it take to create an AI vlog?
Creating a single AI vlog video takes just a few minutes of active work. You’ll spend about 2-3 minutes writing your prompt, then wait 3-5 minutes for the AI to generate your 8-second video clip.
The real-time investment comes in planning your content strategy, writing engaging prompts, and creating multiple clips to tell a complete story. Most creators can produce a full vlog episode in under 30 minutes.
Can I create consistent characters across multiple videos?
This is currently one of the biggest challenges with AI vlogs. Most AI video generators struggle to maintain character consistency across different videos, so your “character” might look slightly different each time.
You can work around this by focusing on characters that wear masks, helmets, or costumes (like Stormtroopers or Bigfoot) where slight variations are less noticeable.
